| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Wow, a really good start. Jun Fukuyama narrating the first half was pretty cool especially when he said Japan "Nippon" (thinks of Code Geass). Yes it's good to hear Shizuka Itou (Hinagiku!) as i haven't heard her great voice in forever. I liked the comedy bits, it actually was kinda funny. We already get some character background, and lol at Kakeru playing ball with the alien. Seems like this "alien" knows his weaknesses. Thank goodness Kakeru isn't annoying (at least yet) but damn Suguru and DAT SCARY FACE  No ED theme this week. |

| Kakeru is so adorable and eager, and the supporting cast seem really endearing so far. I think I'm going to enjoy this a lot. |

At least they don't have white hair like in some anime I've seen. I must say, this anime isn't bad. I don't even like sports anime, but that alien and Kakeru's brother got me interested. Not only that, but that freaking scary face. ; _ ; I'm glad I wasn't the only one weird-ed out by it. |
| I have a good feeling about this one. Reminds me a bit of cross game in a few ways. Its not often i can get into a sports anime but i think this ones going to be good. It doesn't look like it'll have the dbz-esque super moves that i find horrible additions to a sports anime and the story looks serious and interesting. |
| Interesting episode, I enjoyed it. Alien part was my favorite one and Kakeru looked so excited. Cant wait to see him play forreal. Sugure, Kakeru, Yuusuke, are my favorite characters thus far. |

| i thought it was pretty good i'm not a big fan of sports and i was thinking of skipping this one but im gonna stick around the soccer parts seem pretty cool like the ailen scene,and the kota guy keeps reminding me of 90s will smith for some reason..lol. |

Not white but I'm almost sure there was a black guy with yellow-blond hair in that U-15 Brazil. xD I think I saw a white person like, being dribbled by Sugeru in a very fast frame. xD Anyway, I liked it! Showed good potential, what an amazing delievery of setting in the first epi (apparently real football starts next week. xD) And hey, wth? "This is the last time I ever gonna play with my brother" is this a hint they'll gonna kill Japan's Captain already that soon? What a big load of drama! xD Well whatever the reason I'll stick to it to see. |

| I aint going to lie if he didnt finally man up in the 1st episode i was going to drop it. Im just tired of pussy characters. I wish the anime was about his older brother though. I think the alien is Nana. I doubt this anime will be good as Giant Killing to bad it didnt get a second season. 3.5/5 |

| It's never his brother, his brother is way taller and when they were playing they were the same height so it is obvious that it is nana. I knew it at the first second that she got her foot on the ball, it's like so clear. This anime is not just going to be about football, it's also an anime that threats serious stuff so I think this will be good. |

| I really liked this first episode. The setup was pretty good and the conflicts doesn't feel forced. Though my enjoyment for this may get affected with me hearing all the comparisons to Cross Game or Touch since I haven't watched or read both. I should get started on those. I'm really looking forward to this show, especially with that last statement. Though I spoiled myself in the Winter Preview in RC =_= |

The entire point of him being a manager is based on his emotions. The whole point of sports anime is character growth. |

In my book, Touch was a practically perfect anime, so I'm hoping I'll be able to watch and enjoy this one without constantly thinking "Touch did it better" because Area doesn't seem like a bad anime and I probably wouldn't have thought twice if I hadn't seen (and loved) Touch. |

| Nice start for this old fashioned sports/shonen anime, except for the 3D-animated balls which are absolutely awful (they seem like slow-mo actually). |

| never read/watched Touch, but I've seen ADS! http://myanimelist.net/anime/1327/Aoki_Densetsu_Shoot! from first ep they look so damn alike. Three boys watching soccer and dreams about playing side by side with No.10... in soccer club main character is push-over... girl appares... she knows main character, in love with No. 10 and says "Nice shoot'o ;* " If their super player die [I havent read character bio] I'll drop it, 'cause Shoot is my number one and so Area makes me angree |

| Sport anime is always welcomed. This too is not exception. From the start, I knew this will become great series. Very well done for 1st episode. More people should watch this show. Also, Seven is too hot :) |

| It was a pretty good start and has the potential of getting you excited in the games. This anime reminds me of Over Drive |
