At first I thought Horizon would just be another Infinite stratos but it exceeded my expectations by using a decent mixture of comedy and seriousness not many anime can pull that off.

As for the plot I would say it's "Challenging the world for the person you love" translated into anime.

Goddamn it, Japan...

For what its worth, it's the holidays and thresholds were really high. It's also less BD-heavy than most of the other releases this week. So while it didn't do well no matter how you slice it, it could easily have done about the same as the other low-selling releases that did chart. Just with less BDs and more DVDs. Which is about all anyone could have expected of it. But it's likely not one of those sub-1k mega-flop titles or anything.

Good to see Gintama and Totoro on the list.

For those interested, the Idolm@ster game/anime set #3 sold ~19,000 units.

Damn Shana and Mirai Nikki...I thought those were favorites in Japan. Kinda glad Tamayura came out top on the low end of the tier, even if those sales means it barely recuperated production costs.
