I heard this movie will still cover from volume 4 and up which sucks! I mean like those are the good volumes, but neither the anime nor these films cover the first 3 volumes! it is part of the story, no matter how much it sucks(which it is actually pretty good but 4+ is a lot better) I want the full story, that's the point of these movies it's like they are only making these movies cause of the shiny animation! err pissing me off.

well we'll be getting more movies and they possibly moved those books for later.

The production is likely following the chronology of the fabula instead of the syuzhet. This makes sense because of the format of the production and the uncertainty about its financial success. If they had started in medias res as in the manga and it wasn't viable to continue adapting the story beyond the Golden Age arc, we'd end up in the same boat we had with the original adaption.

I think we will get a full story, not only 3 movies. Cause the 3 movie will complete the Golden Arc and will start the Eclipse Arc, probably we will get more 3 movies or 4.

I don't know about that. I mean i'd be all for it but what's the point in making the series like a 7 part movie? They might as well just continue the anime series.. Who knows though maybe they'll make more movies or continue the anime series if the movies are hits... Hoping for one of the two!

According to the initial news article, the "Berserk Project" will last for a decade or more. So yeah, expect OVAs, maybe more movies, and even an anime series.

Even tough I wanna see the queens orgy animated and the moment when Guts first meets Femto was a great foreshadowing to the end of the Golden Age arc, I don't get your motivation. You want the first few volumes animated even tough you think they suck? You want them to waste time and money on something that's going to be bad? Just because "it's part of the story"? And I suppose after you see the OVA you wanted you'd be ranting about how awful it was. Strange fellow.

Basically, syuzhet means the course of events as they are described in the story, and fabula means chronological order of those events. These are the terms from Russian literature critique (wonder how they’ve got here).

In medias res means “in the middle of the things”. Manga started at the mid-point with Black Swordsman Arc, rather than at the beginning with Golden Age Arc.

The first film covers from half of the volume 3 to half of the volume 6.
Looks like the second film will cover the rest of the volume 6 to the second chapter of volume 9

I'd like to think at this point it is very likely that more of the manga is going to be adapted to animation. The real question is are they going to fucking butcher the rest of the story by leaving out like half of the key character development?

I'm so glad the first movie wasn't my introduction to this amazing series, I mean what a fucking train wreck. The Golden Age Arc is practically like an ultra-violent Shakespeare story converted in to manga - the movie adaptation on the other hand was a butchered monstrosity that sacrificed character development for more action and sword swinging - and then to throw salt in the wound they made it all look fucking weird with the CGI.

Now fortunately it would stand to reason that since the Arcs past the Golden Age haven't ever been animated - they might possibly get a more detailed and caring adaptation. I don't really give a fuck about the CGI if they would just sit down and do this story right.

I mean the potential... Oh the fucking potential... /orgasm

They should had started at (spoiler)when Griffith has killed the band of hawk, I think that is where the real story starts.

I wish they just redid the anime. Or added onto it. The movie, despite its animation [which I think is weird], didn't really do a good thing. I mean, I haven't completed the Berserk manga or even spammed it like I was going to. But damn. Was hoping the new movies were going to be at least on par with the anime.
