| HOLY FUCKING COW! I have rarely laughed this much in my life. This episode was goddamn amazing in every single way. And the Gintoki x Hasegawa ending was the cherry on top. This is undoubtedly one of the greatest episodes ever made in any piece of media. PERIOD. To be serious, though, I'm glad that Gintoki making out with the girls wasn't actually canon. I've got to say, although I thought the first half was funny, when the revelation came that they were all trolling him to get him to stop drinking it went from funny to incredibly sad IMO. Yes, Gintoki has a drinking problem and yes it's great that the cast stages an "intervention" for him but this is the only time in the series I think things went way too far. The man was mentally and physically abused for weeks and endured a lot of grief over actions he was manipulated into believing he did. The worst part is that the person he DID do wasn't even a woman; rather he was a dirty bum. Not that I'm particularly against yaoi or anything but all that that revelation does is add insult to Gin's (already huge) injury and leads him to start drinking harder than before. Hell, the cast even tapes it and laughs at him after his heartfelt wish to set things right. What kind of friends are these?! Are these seriously the precious friends that Gin would gladly risk his life to protect? I started the episode grinning wildly and waiting to see how it would end, but now whenever I think of this episode all that comes to mind is some disgust for the cast and pity for poor old Gintoki. I wonder what sort of revenge Gin is plotting... It seems there aren't many people who thought like this, yes it may be funny to some people, but in the end the whole cast hurt him so badly, and it's not like Gin saved most of them from various troubles like death/slavery. What's the point of characters making bonds with each other if the author just makes the whole cast cross the line to stop him from drinking. 0/5 |
