| According to Monthly Flowers magazine, Kodama Yuki's manga "Sakamichi no Apollon" was announced to get a TV anime adaptation. It will be aired in Spring 2012 on Noitamina programming block. Pretty gutsy of the producers if they're trying to turn this into the next josei timeslot, considering the ratings are hardly working as well as they were with, say, Kaiji - but I still hope it works out in the end. The sales are at least barely OK for Chihayafuru, so 2ch might respond positively to this as well... fingers crossed. (I have to admit, I firmly believe this is sort of a direct answer to noitaminA, a "you guys won't produce your josei anymore? Then we'll take your audience instead!" kinda deal? :P) Next winter may look weak, but 2012 will certainly kick off in April. Can't wait for this. |

None of the 2 spring noitaminA shows have been announced yet. With that said, the recently announced Uchuu Kyoudai is an Aniplex production, which makes it fairly likely to end up on noitaminA (it is a fairly risky adaptation in the sense that it's more of a 'mainstream' seinen manga than something that's likely to appeal to otaku, so I can't imagine it airing anywhere else). Now, if we assume that this speculation is spot on, and considering the current state of noitaminA (i.e. BRS and Guilty Crown in February = 2 otaku-oriented shows), it would be brutal to have Uchuu Kyoudai and Sakamichi no Apollon (josei manga, even less likely to be a hit!) air back-to-back next spring. Mind you, I'd love to be proven wrong - I'd love my Thursday nights so damn much if it happened. :p (And honestly I could be totally wrong - there are still many unknowns for this spring, notably AKB0048 and Zetman. AKB0048 on noitaminA would make me chuckle, and yet it could happen!) |
