If this thing is getting a second season they better make one for Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai too.
They already planning more than one season a.k.a split cour for this case.

this would be nice :)
ok Boku wa it's not perfect but still had it's moments

and about Horizon... so they will make another 12 episodes with 4-5 totally unrelated to events or logic?
as start of this series was an abomination, later it got decent (not good, just decent)
so more of it is kind of good thing :)

While the first 4-5 episodes were admittedly quite confusing to non-novel readers like myself (hence why I didn't warm to the show until ep 6), saying they're unrelated to subsequent events or to some internal story logic is untrue. It was all a very (too?) complex attempt to set the geopolitical stage on which Toori and the rest of the cast is now acting, as they set out to do that thing they want to do (being vague for spoilers and all that). Everything that happened in the opening episodes is both still relevant and still being referenced within the context of the show's "current" events.

But problem is that this stage is not complex. Ok many nations, some politics and whatnot but that's what rather makes it difficult to aprehend is how it is shown, that they jump from scene to scene. Creators have right to do it, of course - and some of viewers, like me can say that this is crapy. It has a nice action thou and funny tactics during warfare, thats I cannot say it's totally bad.
Bit of sidenote, I might be biassed a bit after Simoun :) which also shows complicated world, with weird terminology, not to mention that biological thing... and yet it manages not only to show it but also present characters a bit deeper.

so they couldn't adapt another harem light novel and instead will make a second season? Well good for you, Japan. My optimistic side is telling me you're running out of shitty harems and may actually start producing actual quality based shows!

Yes, let's all take this as good news.

Kyoukai senjou Horizon isn't a harem lol.

I cant wait for another season as I absolutely love the show, however I do believe that this show has been hit or miss with a lot of the anime community for good reason so while haters can be annoying, Ill let them off just this once :)

I'm sure we're gonna be seeing a lot of this show. It makes money and Sunrise is all about milking everything until it's dry.

No matter how terrible it is.

This. Wouldn't surprise me if this ends up with like 50-75 episodes when its all said and done, if not more.

If you want to cover the novels properly* id say youd need 50-100 episodes

I will be looking forward greatly to season 2 :)

If they are adapting that much material they need more episodes. Or do a better job, because ep 3-9 was disappointment one after another.

It's finally confirmed. Nice.
I don't mind if it's going to air on Summer 2012 as long as there is second season. :)

I didn't really like the first half of the season but it got much better afterwards. I'm finally starting to like the show so I will gladly welcome a second season. It's still not the best or most profound show around but it's entertaining enough and I feel like it has some potential to get even better.

I approve. Horizon had a terrible start but it definitely got a lot better later on.

totally agree with this. first couple of Horizon episodes were a mess.

Whats up with you people? If im not wrong the first 3 episodes stayed faithful to the novel. So now your complaining about both an anime that stayed faithful to the novel and an anime that doesn't?

Anyways hope it gets more episodes than 12-13

Season 1 sucked until EP4, then it got better and better. I hope S2 starts out awesome and gets EVEN better. I also hope it won't be only 13 episodes as I've heard Vol.2 was a bit... longer.

I had no problemd with the first 4 episodes at all. True, they were confusing and didn't make too much sense but I like this anime a lot so far and I've seen till episode 9 :) I'm looking forward to the 2nd season ^^

I think they've already indicated the second part is a single cour as well, but even if so, it's selling well enough that they could probably stop before finishing the second book (if there's a good stopping point) and get a third going.

I'd rather see Vol.2 splited into two 13 episodes series than rushed in one 13 episodes series. Well, that's only if Vol.2 is as long as I heard it was.

Dunno if you started yet, but you should be prepared to think an awful lot throughout...the entire show. Not necessarily a bad thing (in fact I enjoyed the show more that way, but that's me...)
Can't deny the glorious OST Season 1 has though. Every track is delicious!
