AHH!! That was just soooo awesome!! I never expected this anime to end like this? Why do Kanba and Sho have to disappear?? (but I have to say this ending is perfect) Love the ShoXRingo moment. Awesome confession! The penguins are still cute as ever~ The scene with them walking with kiddie Kanba and Shoma is soo kawaii!! This anime has allowed me to see the true awesomeness of apples. It is fate that penguindrum has become my favorite anime of the year. 10/10 |

Factsies said: Clearly copied the ending from Madoka, 4/10 ...huh? Have you even watched Madoka? Anyway. This ending was so beautiful, I didn't expect the brothers to die. My eyes widened at the part where Shouma told Ringo it was 'their punishment.' 10/10, would erase my memory to watch again. |

I liked how the conversation at the end between the two brothers is the same as the young boys in Ep.1 - with their fates/timelines/universe/whatever changed and they were 'switched out' for Kanba and Shouma. That brief conversation between those two boys in Ep. 1 gives more insight about what happened. I'm a fan of all-around happy endings but I was okay with this one - for the most part. 9/10 |

I dunno guys. I feel like so much of the "symbolism" and "depth" was just pretentious posturing and pointless obligatory shock-value plot twists. Ringo's character development was great, but the rest of it...And don't even get me started on the ending. I have no idea/10 |

Marvelous, Beautful, Anime of The Year 2011, 11/10, etc, etc. The only thing I will be missing are penguins, they've definetely powered this brilliant work :_: |

Wow just wow amazing ending for a very good anime. The last episode just was amazing, many things finally makes fucking sense,i liked that the brothers at the end die,sad but it was the best ending. They using the Penguindrum to save Himari and Ringo, even that i mean they disappearing...they just accept their fate at the end : / ShoumaxRingo scene was cute at the end saying the 3 magic words :( Even after all that it was still a kinda happy ending, the piece of paper in the bear to say goodbye to Himari, seeing Shouma and Kanba being reborn, even that they are not together physically they will be together in their hearths T_T Now the whole anime was very good,it had a very good story until the end, good comedy, good characters, amazing OST and whats even better a good fucking ending, without a doubt 9/10 and with high chances of rewatch it when BDs come out! Btw i am going to miss that Penguins....they were sooooooo funny! ![]() |

I have to admit, I'm not entirely sure what happened. But it was awesome. 9/10 for me, but I still regard this as one of the best series out there. Will watch again one day. |

Haters gonna hate and hypers gonna hype The end didn't satisfy me. I get why Himari needed the apple, since she was abandoned. But Shouma had parents. And teh Takakuras didn't seem the type to abandon him. Kanba had his dad too. And what about Mario? What the hell was he doing in the anime? And Momoka? Sanetoshi was a terrorist and his ghost was his curse. They didn't explain what was special about Momoka. Too many unaswered questions. So, for the Madokafags any anime that ends with a world reset is a copy huh? I wonder what those guys have to say about Lain... randomperson2229 said: I dunno guys. It was one of the good points. He told a very common story in a very creative way, with all the flashbacks and symbols. Though I did find the symbolism in this last ep a bit excessive. Nice to see Kanba being cut by the broiler shards and Shouma being burned by Momoka fire. But what I found really strange is that in the end they weren't together, even though the anime was about family. I guess Ikuhara decided to be a drama queen and have the boys sacrifice themselves to break the cycle of hate. It was a very entertaining anime, Ringo and the penguins were awesome and the comedy was good AND smart. I don't think Ikuhara is a genius writer, but he is a genius director. The use of the OST, the way he managed the flashbacks and the symbolisms and the whole conduction of the anime were almost flawless. Modified by m4rc0, 12-22-11, 9:34 PM |

Really you said what I was thinking perfectly. In the past two years we've been given two animes that both excite our emotions and keep us puzzled from story line, symbolism and other devices. Both Penguindrum and Madoka have given us a whimsical stories that drive the emotions of the viewer to each extreme. Not much else to say other then Mawaru is a amazing work of anime which should be remembered for years to come. 9/10 ![]() |

really great series sad to see it end, my mind was blown at least once in each episode. i almost cried but i held it in wanted to try it for once *mission accomplished?* so much meanings to this show not sure i got all of them but eh it was still great. in the end they all cared for each other! sad to see it ended like that i would have liked it to be all of them but i knew that i wasn't going to end that way. some shows leave a bitter taste when they end but i liked this one. satisfied. i loved the teddy bear scene i dead shed a few tears i guess i did fail. oh and how could i forget about the penguins epicness, they entertained even in time of drama... penguin #1 who at the end, endured and did not read his magazines what a guy... i mean penguin! penguin #2 and his awesome cockroach slaying and eating habits. and penguin #3 who knitted and was just adorable and made us sad when she would fade away when himari passed...many many times... and esmeralda who was just plain epic and funny as hell and loved #1! i think they made the show even better :D all in all i gave it a 9/10!!! I still wonder what are the roles of the penguins, and why it's named penguindrum... |
