i find it ironic that the series i about two mangaka trying to get an anime but it now has a third season of its anime
"Throw away your logic and kick reason to the curb! Beautifully following the golden road! If there’s a wall, we knock it down! It’s a road built with these hands! The Magma of the Heart’s Final Ignition! Perfect Unification Gurren-Lagann!"

I'm really not surprised to see this, this show will probably keep going, maybe even getting a 4th season if the 3rd does well. I will be watching.

Actually no. The sales are very poor: around 1500 each volume. I don't know why they would announce 3rd season already. Looks like you can't evaluate J.C. Staff with human logic.

Hmm... I think it's a pretty nice show and I'll probably end up watching it anyway, but I think the 2nd season is getting kinda boring at the moment.

@novurdim

Probably the same reason why Pierrot made two seasons of Tegami Bachi and why most of shounen anime are made. It has high TV rating so main profit goes from non-direct sources such as rise of manga sales, commercials etc.

I mean, 3 seasons in 3 years. Even Shana took a long time to get a season 3, and ZnT for season 4.
I have no problems though as Bakuman is good and there's plenty of material.
Just wondering about it in terms of sales and looking at the time of release of the seasons.

Bakuman 1st season sold like shit and 2nd season will sell like shit and to add TV ratings are not that good. So I am pretty surprised how we got 2nd season and now 3rd season is announced. Nevertheless, I like Bakuman anime and manga. I just wish that it'd sell more.

And about Shana season 3rd. Well, since it took a long time to get 3rd season it has lost a lot of fans. Preorders for vol.1 are simply bad. Probably it won't even cross manabi line(3000). It's quite ironic, considering 1st season sold +10000copies so and clusterfuck 2nd season also sold +10000 copies while 3rd season is doing poorly... Verdict it isn't always a good idea to make fans wait for new season since it can lose its fandom like it happened with Shana.

that's kinda sad , since SnS III is superior in story , art , animation compared to the other season.

Anyway i will watch bakuman 3 , since i like the first season

I agree, SnS III is really better in all ways. I hope though that the bad sells will not affect the amount effort the people at J.C. Staff will not decrease and result into a bad conclusion, but I don't think so.

Sales of the anime don't matter at all for Bakuman. Sales of the manga do. Obviously the anime must be having a positive effect on the latter, or they wouldn't be green-lighting a 5th and probably 6th cour. Bakuman has more in common with Naruto/Bleach/One Piece in that respect, than normal late night anime - although anime of all kinds often falls into the "advertisement for the original" model.

Verdict it isn't always a good idea to make fans wait for new season since it can lose its fandom like it happened with Shana.

Yeah, it really sucks how Shana III is being ignored, when it's so goddamned epically good. The past few episodes have been nothing but phenomenal, full stop, and it could very very easily be the best season of the franchise. I'll be importing it, but it just doesn't seem like there are enough like me.

why don't they just keep it ongoing like naruto or something?
i guess the quality would drop...and they would start adding more filler...

but shows like fullmetal alchemist:brotherhood went on for more than 25 eps
so why don't they just make the seasons longer?

That's an exception though, not the norm. This just seems like a two-cour equivalent of the split-cour stuff becoming more popular with one-cour titles.

I have mixed feelings about this. A 3rd season is good for both mangakas but the quality of the first two seasons is really bad especially when compared to the manga

Why are you watching the S2 of the anime that you loathe?
¬‿¬ And those guys who think they are elite because they watched (earlier or) more anime than others.

Bakuman anime kind lost itself in the end of season 1, but season 2's been very amusing. I love it.

The manga has more content, but I'm not sure they'll animate it.

How does shit like this get so many seasons while Baccano is still left hanging?

Wait, let me try that again.

Awesome, good news. I knew the second season probably wouldn't cover the entire manga and figured I'd have to pick up the manga if I ever wanted to finish the story, but this gives me hope that they may keep doing it. It's done well enough for three seasons, at least.

Seriously, what is up with MAL posters and trying to make points by scouring the other person's list, seizing on a rating your disagree with, and then quoting it as if it proves fuck all about the topic at hand? By the by I really like both Bakuman and Lucky Star. Oh fuck, what now? I guess I've created a space-time rupture that will devour the universe.
