Watch the Movie or the Tv series?

I'm caught up on whether to watch the Tv series or the movie of this. If I were to watch the movie instead of the first season would I be missing much? Also would it be a smooth transition into the second season after the movie or not? Just one thing that is putting me off watching the Tv series is the age of the anime, I don't really like watching action shows that are from pre-2007 and so the movie seems the better as it's newer. Any help would be appreciated :)  |

Well, it depends what you care about more, I suppose. The movie has better animation and action while the series has better character development. I'd say it's worth watching both, but if you are set on only watching one....then either would suffice. |

I prefer just watching the movie when it's a recap but that's just me      |
