Was Mir actually relieved that his partner was still following closely behind? He doubted it. If Maw had lost himself in this forest, he wasn't responsible for it. He did tell the guy to just stay and watch where he was going. Moving farther and deeper into the forest, a howl was heard. Mir would have stopped his tracks but he wanted this job done and over with. No time to get distracted. Mir wasn't reacting as much as he intended too, "Gee, that's not fun at all,"he muttered under his breath. Maw was still following behind him of course, but perhaps because of his clothing and his unintentional hiding in the darkenss, he couldn't catch a clear sight of him. |

Mir stopped in his tracks, just to spite his partner. Also he did think that he heard Maw mumbling. "Did you say something?" What makes you really feel secure is knowing that somebody more pathetic than yourself exists out there. |

Maw wasn't paying much attention since he is pretty much at home in the darkeness, but he didn't expect his partner to stop trekking out of the sudden which results in him banging onto his back. Touching his nose which hurts a little, he stared at Mir, "Nothing, not anything that you should be concerned of," "Oh boy what have I got myself into," he wondered, his expression soured. |

Mir laughed as his partner bumped at him, though he was thrown forward a little. His little prank actually worked. It was just a small distraction for the moment. He went back to walking. Actually, Mir knew a little about witches. They performed some peculiar rights and something about contracts with the devil. But all these knowledge were from books and not from actual experiences. By this time, he knew that not all books were factual. "Hey, mister", he called he partner, without ever turning his head. "D'ya think this Miss Barrier's a witch?" As the two continue arguing, the ground around them seems to shake and bubble slightly. These bubbles begin to rise in height, sprouting first arms, then faces and legs. They form numerous monstrosities, seemingly made entirely of earth. They howl, charging and attacking the two. ~Swish~ |

"You know we aren't suppose.."Maw's words tailed off as he saw what seems to be beings that were made out of earth, they were human-size but the resemblance stops there. "Isn't it a little too early to start exercising?" he whinned, and then whispered to his fellow partner "How about we make a dash for it? I don't really wish to fight them," he points. |

Maw was trying to say something when he was stopped mid-sentence. Mir exactly knew why. The ground started to shake slightly and bubbles started forming. These bubbles started to grow limbs and probably what resembles a face. If the rumors about Miss Anne Barrier being a witch were true, these must be hers. Mir's partner whined, and suggested that they should make a run for it. He spared a few seconds to think. Was it really wise to escape? "I don't think we'd get anywhere near this missy's house without beating up these guys." What makes you really feel secure is knowing that somebody more pathetic than yourself exists out there. |

Fighting was the last thing he ever had in mind right now, the timing wouldn't be worst and he hates fighting in the forest, in fact he had a thousand and one reasons why they shouldn't fight right now. Maw groans as he realised that what Mir said held some truth, "Fighting or running? Decide" Maw always become lazy when he knows he can't avoid a fight, and sometimes people don't understand what he was trying to imply. |

Mir had a reason why he thinks it is strategical to fight these golems now and also had a reason why he shouldn't. As he had stated earlier, these monstrous beings would be following them wherever they would go, so it would be wise to defeat them now than later. The problem was, however, that the enemy certainly had a handicap. "Fighting or running? Decide" his partner asked. Mir can tell that Maw didn't want to fight. This was a troublesome battle, he thought so too. "Well, I still think that fighting them off is a better idea." Although Maw knew that there was a higher chance of fighting then not to, he still drags the idea of fighting. Imagine what all those soil would do to his outfit and sword. "Fine, then lets get this going." Maw draws out his sword and was ready to fight. |

Mir decided he go all out. The faster he gets to finish off this little group of monsters, the better. He wanted this job done and over with right away. But he knew, his knives were of no use against this things. Looking around for anything he could use, Mir picked up a fallen branch on the ground. He broke off the unnecessary parts, making it look like a short sword. This looks good enough, he thought as he examined the sword like-branch. Mir had already drawn a small transmutation circle on the palm of his hand earlier. He had prepared this from such cases that he'd be forced to fight. With this, the branch he was holding was slowly being turned to steel, a weapon he was going to use. Initially Maw thought that the battle would be an easy win for him, afterall take a look at them, they look so harmless and in fact a little cute too. Oh never mind him since he had a twisted sense of what cuteness is as a necromancer. But any way back to the battle, drawing his sword out he went to attack the first creature that he noticed, when it reacted he blocked it with his arm, he smiled and calmly tell him that something like that wouldn't work but panic when he saw the stain that was left on his clothes. |

Mir had thought of going defensive because doing otherwise seemed to be a waste of energy. But since these beings were just animated soil or whatever, he decided that it would be a better choice to act now. His partner seemed to think so, too, as he saw him drew his sword to attack. With his branch sword, he followed suit. Mir dashed to the nearest monster, and slashed it. Luckily, it seemed effective as it chucked of a piece from the soil creature. If I keep this up, we'll be done fast, he thought to himself. He was busy fending for himself that he failed to notice his partner having difficulty. Maw's eyes widen and filled with rage, with that emotion, he swiftly slashes the one who dirtied his sleeves. He don't consider himself to be a freak when it comes to cleaniness but he doesn't like it when his clothes are dirtied. The other being who was standing behind him ready to hit him with a sneaky attack but before it did, Maw shreds it in the blink of an eye. "Seriously, when is this going to end, look at my sleeves, its so dirty, yuck!" waving his sleeves at Mir, he whined like a kid who doesn't get his candies. |

Skillfully, Mir had dodged a few attacks thrown by his opponents. His tactic was simply running at a distance that is enough to keep him a few meters away and slashing the first monster that would reach him. This process was repeated several times just to avoid being damaged himself. It was quite effective but it took too much time. He wasn't happy with this at all. In the corner of his eye, Mir saw his partner waving at him, complaining about his dirtied sleeve. Maw's behavior had distracted him causing Mir to get hit with one of the monsters rock-throwing attacks. He managed to shield himself, but it didn't erase the fact that he got damaged. Pissed, he would have thrown the same rocks at his partner but it wouldn't be a good idea. Instead, he improvised by turning the pieces of rocks to steel and threw it back towards the monsters. Not bad, he commented. What makes you really feel secure is knowing that somebody more pathetic than yourself exists out there. |

"Ah-le-le, he's not bad," Maw thought as he dodged between his opponents, keeping an eye at him. He seems to be upset about him over something but he was baffled since he knew he didn't do anyting to annoy him. Maw swings his sword at a his opponent who was dashing towards him causing critical hits to it.As the opponent fall, he notices an exceptionally dark shadow looming over Mir's shoulders. |

Mir was too preoccupied with a few more monsters who started to corner him. Apparently, they earned some sort of brain and realized that his strategy. Sooner or later, they were bound to know assuming that there is someone controlling over them. It was too late when he noticed that there was something behind him. "What the-", he exclaimed as he tried to dodge his enemy. What makes you really feel secure is knowing that somebody more pathetic than yourself exists out there. |

Maw jumped infront of Mir and blocked the attack for him on his blade, pushing the opponent forward and taking the distance created as an advantage, he slashed him across his chest. Looking back, he reminded Mir to be careful about his surroundings and the idea of them working together. |

Mir almost got hit despite dodging but luckily, his partner was there to block the attack. Mir was grateful that he was saved, not that he thought he'd be dead by an attack such as that. Maw told him to be careful of his surroundings, though that should only be natural when in a fight. His partner suggested that they should fight together, however, Mir knew that it could only work perfectly if they had knowledge of each others' capabilities. "And how do you suppose we do that?" he asked, as he went and dashed for another monster. What makes you really feel secure is knowing that somebody more pathetic than yourself exists out there. |
