So... If you're caught up to chapter 76 you know...
Hachi is in Tokyo.
Takumi is in London.
They have two kids. Satsuki lives with Hachi and the younger boy (they apparently had and named Ren) lives with Takumi.
Reira and Naoki are in London too.
Nana is hiding out in London even though nobody is supposed to know that.
Yasu and Shin are in Japan.
Nobu is working for his parents at their hotel in Japan.
So... That accounts for all the band members from both Trapnest and Blast (plus some kids) EXCEPT for Honjo Ren.
Honjo hasn't been seen in ANY of the flash forwards to the present time.
So...
Let's hear some theories... I'm tired of making up my own...
Why do you think Honjo Ren hasn't made an appearance in the "current" story?

I thought that maybe he cheated on Nana with Reira and Nana just couldn't forgive him. That was after I saw Reira singing with Little Ren in the park. lol
Light hair genes from Reira and a "genius" at the guitar genes from Ren...
Plus when Hachi asked Takumi (in some unknown chapter to me), "How's Ren?" You couldn't help but to think that she was talking about Honjo Ren.
Then after his drug problem came into the story I got the feeling he might have actually died because maybe he went overboard with the drugs...
But a car wreck?!?

what happened to ren is really really sad but somehow expected.

Chapter 78 is really heart breaking. No wonder the child was named Ren...

i couldn't believe ... i can't believe!
i even cried...that can't be true, ren cannot be dead...
i have some feeling it's not going to finish like this, it just wouldn't be right!
There is some possibility that that's not him cause they havent seen his face, but ... i dont know...its awful...

yup.. the last few chapters answered that. god i bawled ><;; i thought maybe he'd be severely injured or something.. but dead... whyyy Ai... this mangas making me really emo -_- hopefully the ending will be bittersweet rather than completely sad..

It's really unbelievable. Of course Nana will be sad now and it's very bad, but I'm actually really sorry for Ren -and for myself maybe, 'cause I can't see him anymore-. I have a respect for him like Shin's respect. He was an unapproachable person for me. It's a really big loss. I don't think any end of the manga now for me will be a happy ending, but we are talking about Ai Yazawa, so maybe it can be a happy ending. I don't know. -_-"

Edit: Now I think about it, it can't be a happy ending if we are talking about Ai Yazawa. I'm already feel depressed. -_-"

I don't read the scans, so I am way behind since I am waiting for VIZ to release the manga volumes every other month.

No, it's just a theory. For now he looks like Takumi and Hachi's child, but there is a possibility that maybe he's from Reira and Takumi if you look future Ren's behaviour towards Reira. It's not a certain thing, though. ^^

oo ok, that does make sense xD but i think it is Takumi's and Hachi's, looks to much like Takumi xD

I'm not a manga reader, so even with the spoiler for the future anime of season 2, I am not at all surprised by what has been revealed here. This entire story has a deep underlying sadness and loneliness to it. So, loosing a character is not a surprise to me. Since this story is more "real life" than most manga/anime, this is only a natural thing. Sure, I would miss Ren, as would Nana, but that just supplies more fuel for the tone of this story. By the time season 2 comes out, I will probably forget about this revelation, but if not, it won't detract from this amazingly good story!
