The outcome was not to his liking but it was something he had expected. They hadn’t really spent much time together so it was quite possible. He was happy to find out that she didn’t completely reject the idea and in time the two of them could get a little closer. This was reassuring as that was all he really wanted to know.

With that out of the way there was still what were they to do. Kaimei actually had little preference as long as they could continue to spend time together. “Would you like to talk a little then?” He answered, “We could find out a little more about each other.” He figured she’d be for it but waited for her response before continuing.

"Well, I guess we can tell some things about ourselves. Well, I have a PhD in nuclear chemistry and physics, so that's why I'm teaching those sciences here at this school." she said. "I was a college teacher, but I quit because it was taking alot of energy, especially because I was pretty much a child teacher. So I took a year off. Took up some hobbies, and got an invite to teach here. Doesn't have as much potential as the kids at Cal Tech, but at least I'm not teaching like 65 kids at once and grading like 200 papers" she said giggling. "Enough about me, tell me about yourself Keimei" she asked.

Kaimei listened intently to Amaya. In the way he had devoted his life to music she had devoted hers to chemistry. The only difference was that Amaya had chosen to keep things simple by teaching at this school. Kaimei didn’t have choice, being forced out of the music scene because of his abilities. He didn’t find anything wrong with her choosing to keep things simple if that’s what she enjoyed but again couldn’t help but feel a little jealous she had a choice. She passed the conversation over to him. It was his turn to say something about himself. There was a lot to say but there was also a lot he’d prefer not to say, at least not yet.

“Well, okay. I guess you might have noticed my love for music. That is pretty much what I’ve devoted my life to. Most of what I know was self-taught though I’ve polished those skills in professionally taught music classes. I don’t do them anymore but I still strive to improve myself. I wouldn’t mind showing my skills off on stage but for now I’m content with just finishing school.” He answered, “As for why I transferred to Shiroku. I was finding things in my old high school a little stale and then I heard of this place. I decided it could be some fun so I transferred over. I was hoping to find some unique people and I wasn’t disappointed. Amaya, you are as unique and wonderful as they come.”

He decided he’d leave most of the details about exactly why he had come here. He was scared of how she’d react to learning about his abilities and on top of that didn’t like the idea of appearing as some tragic hero. If there was anything he wanted to avoid it was being pitied. Still he was interested in whether Amaya was one of the people who had some special ability. “I feel like I already know so much about you.” He continued, “I had heard this school was for people with gifts but to think they would have a teacher who is gifted as you. I honestly want to know more about you. Please, Amaya, with your beautiful voice tell me more about yourself.”

Makoto had just finished unpacking. Not that it took him long, he rarely wasted money on frivolous items. Even with everything out of his two duffel bags, the room looked barren. I guess I'll check the lounge out before I go outside to smoke.

As he headed to the lounge, a boy came into view. "Hey there." He said in passing.

Kurosei Xethres

Xethres was just on his way to his room, when a male teacher came into his sight.
He was greeting him and he seemed rather unique.
"Nice to make your acquaintance."

After he greeted him back, Xethres entered his room and immediately went to his bed.
Lying there, he put his arms behind his head and closed his eyes.
He would rest for a while...

Amaya chuckled. "Oh please, you're too flattering, but thank you anyway. You have one thing right, I am gifted, like everyone here, I have a unique gift. Just like you, I have something special. When I was younger, I was diagnosed as a prodigy. That's why I'm such a young teacher. I got my PhD in chemistry at 14, and physics at 15. I served in the military for two years. At 17, I started teaching at Cal Tech, I lived in California by the way. There I taught for two years, then as you know, I took a years break. I learned a lot of extra curricular stuff like instruments, art, cooking. But I got bored because I mastered those things pretty fast. Since the guys at Cal Tech didn't need me yet, I was relieved to get an invitation to teach here." she explained as she crossed her legs. "But this is rather awkward, I like the compliments you give me but, it's quite going over the edge this early." she said as she walked slowly to her bed. "I understand that you like me, and that's commendable. I like you too Kaimei." she said as she picked up one of her drawings. "I should ink these" she said to herself.

Kaimei again listened as Amaya re-iterated in more detail what she had said previously. Indeed, it did appear that she had something special about her. It was nothing like what he had though with his heritage. It didn’t matter too much in the end he was just curious. Surely there were others out there with more amazing gifts and ideally a female siren so he could finally find someone he could be with seriously. At the end she said she felt awkward about all the compliments he had given her. He hadn’t felt there was anything wrong with expressing himself but it was obviously making her uncomfortable and he didn’t want that.

“I just want to express how special you are.” He answered, “I want you to know how I feel. I’m not saying these things just because I can. I really mean it and more often than not people such as yourself aren’t told these things enough. I can understand if it makes you uneasy. If you really want I can stop but remember that is how I think of you, Okay Amaya?” He didn’t like the idea of not being affectionate even if he was only using words but if she truly wanted him to stop, he would.

Amaya turned back around to him. "Thank you" she said with a smile. "I'm sorry if you thought that I didn't know how you felt, it's just that all my life, I've gotten nothing but praise. Everyone adored me, everyone thought highly of me. Everyone was amazed at my ability. For once in my life, I just want to be normal, and this school might be my key to it." she explained.

Minami Mao

Mao returns to his room, as he turns the key that opens his bedroom, he was greeted by a voice that he didn't really wish to hear at that point of time. A voice that he cannot avoid because it comes from internally.

"Hey hey, why is it that you aren't at the top of the performance rank? You put in so much effort yet you didn't win? Let's go back and look for her now now."

The voice was childish and demanding as usual, but Mao didn't know she was so competitive . He aren't the type who is competitive, perhaps she represents the internal competitiveness he never knew he had.

"No way I'm going back, I'm beat and I've still got things to settle. If you want to, then you can go for it yourself. Mao replied, not concerning if anyone else hears him since he is in his own room.

That reply certainly shuts the voice up and rubbing his temples, Mao was tired but its not something he cannot recover within an hour or so. That was nothing compared to the training he had went through when he was younger. Dealing with the dark elements is not a joking matter, a necromancy has to undergo tough training to master and control it so that the user won't be counter controlled by it.

Talking about that, Mao opened one of the drawer where he places all the unused notebooks. He took a red one out and mark it as "Shiroku Highschool Training Notes", fliping it open, he started writing all the points that he noticed during the training just now.

"Hmm.. yes!" He exclaimed while stretching his shoulders, he had made progress but he would need to call his father to check with him some of the mistakes he had made and how he can improve himself. But that can wait as he walks to the bathroom and took a quick showers. Nothing refreshes him more than a shower would do.

Drying his hair, he began to plan his next move. Not knowing what else to do, he decided to enter the lounge and see if there is anyone there.

Kaimei
Kaimei listened to Amaya explanation of why it made her uncomfortable. He could understand that she had been treated specially because of her gifts. He had experienced, on a lesser note, the same type of treatment when people had recognised his potential. The compliments he had used were different. He didn’t say those things because of her gifts, but rather because he wanted to show that she was special in his eyes. Even without her abilities he’d probably still come to the same outcome.

“I understand.” He answered, “I see you as a normal girl, Amaya, and though you are special existence to me it isn’t based on your abilities but rather your personality. I hope you understand where I’m coming from.” He didn’t think he’d have to explain things much further but he would prefer to confirm so before continuing.

Reika

As requested by the teacher in charge of the Virtual Training Room practice session Reika had made her way to their room. She was still mentality exhausted and honestly didn’t want to want to talk with anyone at the moment. It was only because she was a good obedient girl that she didn’t disobey her teacher’s request. She hated troublesome situations and they were much easier to avoid if she followed the rules. She’d prefer to go a little out of her way then deal with a lot of trouble the following day.

It had taken her a little time to find her way to room, which she had hoped wouldn’t be a problem. She reached up to knock, timidly recoiling for a second before gathering the courage to knock. She didn’t know what to expect and had some questions about the motives of the teacher. Surely she didn’t need to invite Reika to her room just to give her the first place prize. There had to be something more. Reika had hoped she had just wanted to talk and there nothing for her to worry about. She was too exhausted to really think much further.

She quickly made sure she was presentable. She’d like to make a good impression by showing her tidy appearance. After all she did like to be a perfect student. At the back of her mind, she couldn’t shake her suspicions, as she waited for the door to be answered.

"Thank you Kaimei" Amaya said as she smiled. "Thank you for understanding. With you around, I think I do feel special" she said.

Xecrent Yuuki

Yuuki heard a knock on the door. It surely must have been the girl from the training room.
If memory served her right, Reika Itou was her name...

Opening the door, she greeted Reika with her usual gentle smile.
"Welcome Reika-chan. Please come inside. You must be tired from the training session."

With this sentence she invited the seemingly nervous and exhausted girl to her room.

Kaimei

He smiled at her response. It was nice to know all he had done had not been in vain. “That’s good to hear.” He replied feeling the topic had reached a close.

With that matter closed he thought it would be good to lighten things up a little. The serious conversation if they continued would have led to probably a more intimate situation but he felt that would be even more uncomfortable for Amaya. Instead he’d break the current tension and hopefully be able to change the pace of things. “Well as much as I’d like to spend more time alone with you in this room I was thinking maybe you’d prefer to look around the dorms with me?” He requested.

In all honesty if they were going to look around he’d prefer to check out the actual school but it was currently off limits; something Kaimei found unusual due to how close it was to the start of the term.

Reika

As the handle of the door started to turn Reika held her breath in anticipation. The door opened slowly and the teacher who she had seen in the training room stood before her. After the first few words were spoken Reika started to breathe steadily again. It was relieving to see everything was normal. Without delay Reika was invited into the teacher’s room. The first step again required her courage as she just couldn’t shake the feeling of distrust.

The teacher’s smile and words were very kind, but there was no way she was as kind of person as her expression suggested. Only a few minutes ago Reika had been experiencing what this teacher referred to as training. The result was a death match against a digital opponent. Death for the students may have been just resulted in them being rejected from the room but it was concept was still the same. Reika couldn’t imagine just any teacher designing such a ‘game’ and given the kindness blatantly shown by the teacher things just got more suspicious.

Still she was a student and she would do as she was asked. After all her speculation she had no solid proof the teacher had any hostility towards her. Reika would pay close attention to how things unfolded and hopefully everything would be fine. Whether she could maintain focus with her current mental state was yet to be seen.

Shaking off her fears Reika pushed herself to take the first step across the boundary of the room. Once the first step had been taken the following came much easier as Reika glided into the room. Her footstep were as silent as ever and her actions without waste. She looked around the room to see how things were arranged. Afterwards she turned to the teacher and waited for the conversation to continue. It wasn’t like her to speak much and at this point she couldn’t find the courage to say anything.

"Call me immediately if you get in a tight spot."? Is he expecting me to get into a difficult situation? He really should've told me more about this school... Kaien rolled over onto his stomach, so his face was in his pillow. His thoughts continued. Aoi, huh? That's the first time I've had a lengthy conversation with anyone other than Uncle Kyo in years. I almost got carried away, too. Telling her and demonstrating my ability isn't detrimental, it'll come out sooner or later. Good thing he called, otherwise I would've ended up telling her my weakness and the conditions of use for my ability. I guess I'll just be grateful this time. I think I should get some rest... A few minutes later Kaien was sound asleep.

Xecrent Yuuki

The girl felt uncomfortable. It was to be expected since she just entered the vice-principals room.
"No need to be shy. You have done well in becoming first.
I have high expectations for you."

Yuuki spoke in a soothing and friendly tone. She had taken quite an interest in this particular girl. Despite not being experienced in combat, she was able to land critical hits on the enemy. It was certainly an impressive feat.

"As promised you will receive your reward for becoming first.
Here take this."

Yuuki handed out a white orb-like item. It was as big as a small pearl and gave off a mysterious glow.

"This is a very special item, so you should treasure it Reika-chan."
Yuuki said this with a smile on her face. This item was indeed mysterious for even Yuuki only knew this much. It would suit Reika very well as, currently, only she herself would to be able to properly use it...

"Now, do you have any questions?"

Amaya lightened up. "Well, I guess we can. I'm done with my lesson plan for the year. But the thing is, are you ready for my class?" she sneered with a smile.

Kaimei

Kaimei rose to his feet and offered her hand to Amaya. With her consent he’d pull her to her feet as well. As for his response to her question he answered, “I hope so. If not I’m sure your wonderful teaching skills will catch me up.” He was at best an average student in most subjects. He only dedicated enough time to pass and focused all his free time on his music. There was nothing wrong with that as he had chosen to live his life with music and a basic knowledge of most subjects was all he needed.

If she had taken his hand he would escort her towards the door and after letting her leave first he would follow.

"I hope my teaching skills are up to the task" she said as she chuckled taking his hand. "But I'm warning you, just because we're friends doesn't mean I'll go easy on you in class" she said as she smiled.
