According to the official brochure, episode 5 of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn will be released in May 2012. The title is "Black Unicorn".

According to Famitsu.com, the original author Fukui Harutoshi announced at the premiere stage event that "I know everyone is worrying if we can wrap up the story with the final sixth episode, but I have come up with an idea. It will be revealed in the next episode."

this anime and Hellsing Ultimate i don't know which is trying to piss me off more before the other. They lucky that i'm a gundam fan and sh*it hellsing i so damn good too. I only hope that i'll still be around when it releases.

Yes, you need to watch 0079, 0083, Zeta, ZZ, CCA, and then you can watch Unicorn.

Yes, and yes it is worth it if you're a gundam fan. The thing is you have to watch the UC series to be familiar with the storyline so that means you have to have at least watched:

Mobile suit gundam UC 0079
Zeta Gundam UC 0087
Double Zeta gundam UC 0088
Char's Counter attack UC 0093

to be even remotely familar with the story. Gundam Unicorn takes place in UC 0096
If you watched:

08th team UC 0079
War in the Pocket UC 0080
Stardust Memory UC 0083
F91 UC0123
Victory Gundam UC0153

then you'll understand a bit more about those as well. Especially about the events in F91 and V-Gundam. The rest of the Series SD, G, Wing, After War, Seed/Destiny, 00, and Age have nothing to do with the UC series. Turn A has nothing either except all continuities of gundam seem to end at that point.

I have the first 3 episodes they are actually very easy to remember, but that's probably because I rewatched them at least 3 times each one.

i do not think its that uber necessary to watch a lot of old gundam UC universe just to enjoy gundam unicorn especially the fact that Gundam The Origin will be animated too and i heard its a remake of the first Gundam UC series so you can see Char and Amuro Ray in modern animation

personally i did not watch the old UC series much but ive seen char's counter attack movie and gundam f91 though

Well one of those who were working on the show already tweeted right after ep 1 that at the pace that they finished the first one they're looking at a 2 per year release. So his prediction (back then in 2010) of "the series would end in two years" is proven true now. lol

There were some slight "regression" on the release dates though. It was late Feb, then late Oct for 2010. Then it turned Late April/early May then November for this year.
