On a completely unrelated note, I've always envisioned Kanarika's 'personality' to be quite like that of Clarion from Koukaku no Pandora... dat deadpan delivery and seriousness is just right. They're both cat-girls too...

I'm not even fond of catgirls. Especially the old-school genki catgirl types.

Sorry Sayaka...but I'm not going to follow you on the Prodigy M casing. Instead, I've bought an Aegis. ^_^; I'll throw in pics once I get it.
Sadly, I only realized just now its a core one, so no LCD...but yeah, 53$ rebate is nice. ^_^;
One reason I didn't go with the prodigy is simply because I don't have enough clearance for the CPU heatsink...my cooler is 162MM high...Prodigy is 160MM...Aegis is 170MM...>_<

No problem. Better than having to keep a side panel off, and with the power buttons and USB 3.0 ports on the side panel of the Prodigy M, it's just not possible ^^; I'm sure you're going to have a much easier time building in the Aegis, and airflow should be much better too. :D

Airflow in the Prodigy M is fundamentally flawed because of the top intakes (blowing down) which run counter to natural heat dissipation (heat rises, as we know). I can't reverse it as exhaust because it would compete with the nearby GPU fans (which is oriented upside down with the MB and is drawing air from above) and I wouldn't want my GPU to be 'gasping' for air...

I'm thinking of adding bottom intakes as well for positive pressure (and more air in general), but that means I'll have to reuse the metal bracket on the side to hold all my drives again.

Did the Aegis (without rebate) still cost you less? In my part of the world, the Aegis Core (~116CAD) is still more expensive than the Prodigy M (~87CAD). I suppose the Aegis Core is black only, or did you get a different colour?

Yes, I got the black one, and it cost me less. The Prodigy M is, at its lowest, which was the yesterday at NCIX, at 110-150CAD. (black being 125CAD) The Aegis normally is at 138CAD. But it's got a 53$ rebate, so it was at 85$. Add taxes and shipping, that amounts to 110CAD. The Prodigy M would have cost around 160$ total...

And yes...the Prodigy does run a bit counter-intuitively. ^_^; The Aegis sports a rather normal design, which is more what I like. At least I'll be able to close the side door. XD

Hmm, its a tough question. For sure, we'd all love it if it were as good as SAO. But reality shows its usually quite a pain in real life, and usually badly optimized. Only time will tell.
What I really think: virtual reality? Virtual 3D? Looks interesting somehow...

VR eh... So far everything I've seen (excluding school tutor) has looked bad. If they were able to release something to the scale of sword art online then yay!

Please, you're still in the day and age where people get excited for a hologram. We're nowhere near the level of SAO VR.
If you tell me the Oculus rift is VR, it is to a degree Until you realise that you still need a controller to move and control your character muh immersion.
Now if you're talking about that VR porn in Vegas or somewhere, if I want a video with gyroscopic properties I'd ask Apple to make me something If they ever get out of court LOL.

Looking forward to the adaptation as I loved the 5 minute original. Apparently, they got HanaKana to voice She/Her! (judging from the PV narration and the Cast listed) I remember showing it in Japanese class way back in college... I was amazed back then that there were good anime as short as that.

Hard drives don't burn either...the only way an HDD or an SSD can burn is
1) A bad PSU
2) A bad motherboard
3) A short in the 5v/12V rails (ex. bad fan controller)
Still then...they just either smoke a little or stop working.
Overall, SSD's are the same as HDDs, when they fail, they usually don't do anything more than being undetectable by the pc...only difference though is that there's absolutely no way to get your data back on an SSD.

As for useful life...if you transfer around 20GB per day...don't expect it to last more than a few years.

^ Well I should be fine for a while... I operate off my SSD but I can't remember the last time I saved/installed anything onto my SSD. Everything goes to the HDD

O__O There's nothing wrong with having a prebuilt pc. My PC may look nice, but I'm basically the only one who looks at it anyways. As long as it's well built and doesn't rattle like there's no tomorrow like my previous casing, you're all good. What matters is if it works well, is relatively silent, and doesn't accumulate all the dust in your room. Your analogy isn't good imo, as long as it works, there's no need for all the showcasing.

Take care on your trip. ;__; It's not the time to play the Kotomi route in Clannad.

The one thing that really sold me on it was the fact I can run a lot of cables behind the motherboard. Plus the two front USB ports and headphone jack.

Yeah, one of the reason they're good for the price is the cable management. For a casing of it's price, it's almost unheard of having any cable management at all. I think it even has more space than the Aegis on the back. Which is quite something.

Two usbs and headphone jack is getting quite standard though. hard to find a casing without that. XD

natsu I don't think you can even set your cpu cooler the right way... As it is right now there's barely any space between it and the GPU. If you set it upright.. Well there won't be a gpu ^^

I mostly agree that there's nothing wrong with prebuilts, but I hate some things about them. Bad power supplies, flimsy motherboard material, no gpu expansion back in the days of old, having a backplate mounted CPU cooler that has irremovable mounting.

@JnMegami
Yeah...you're right, I think I actually can't make it fit iirc. lol... Still restricting my airflow and making more noise like that...:( But I barely hear it anyways. I mean....the noises from outside my room overpower the pc...^_^;

Sadly, I seem to be having an issue with noise in my sound card with the new casing...or maybe I didn't hear it before with all the rattling. Well, it's very slight so I won't open it again for only that. Probably the fan controller, and it's too practical to unplug.

And yeah, some prebuilt systems are just plain bad. It depends on the company. Lack of pcie port or proprietary supply are a real pain, I agree...

Oh, you were on water cooling now? AIO still use 120MM fans, and you even have a pump...so it's not much different. Of course, they don't have to work as much.

Very nice.
Now that is a case that looks good and should have great airflow.

There's nothing weird about that cooler placement, because you pointed it to blow upwards (hot air rises as we know) - traditionally, top of the case is also used for exhaust; See if you can get top exhaust fans too if temps are not satisfactory.

Is the Bitfenix logo a sticker, magnetic or something else?

Also, nice background while taking temps. ;)

Building a PC is fun (or so it is for me), but gets expensive fast. I think it would be awesome in itself if you could add/replace kickass new parts in a prebuilt... like having a 80+ Gold PSU and something like a GTX 980 Ti, GTX Titan X, R9 Fury X or R9 Nano as the GPU inside.

Experience tells me however that prebuilt PC manufacturers are jerks and like to use non-standard sized parts, weird plastic locks and really basic motherboards with green PCBs (not that anything's wrong with green PCBs...). I'm looking at you, Compaq/HP...

JnMegami said:

Did you attach the h80i fans to the pump or the motherboard? Mine is connected to the pump and only runs at maximum speed when booting up... (sounds like a jet taking off when it starts ^^;)
Also, I have a custom fan speed curve in Corsair Link 3, while the pump is connected via USB cable to the motherboard.

If you attached it to the motherboard, see if you can set the fan curve in the BIOS so it doesn't run full speed all the time.
At maximum speed these H80i fans are really, really loud!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a .css hosting site for list styles?
I had nothing better to do while at home and I found a topic on /r/anime talking about Mal CSS so I decided to change both of my lists.
Anyways the current CSS utilizes a @import that I modified and need to host somewhere. (Currently puush, but it goes down more often than anything else)
I've tried copying the code directly onto the box in mal but it comes out weird but I'm still looking into why.

As a side note can we rename CSS styles?
