| Damn Chihaya is hot. ♥ o ♥ I was confused when the flashback happened because Chi and Taichi looked so much younger than I expected. Taichi was a dick for pushing that poor kid. I'm glad Chi stood up for Arata. I'm still trying to figure out how karuta works but I think I will get it soon. The animations during that karuta game were really fluid. Pretty good first episode. There's a bit more comedy than I expected there to be but I think I will manage. 7/10 |
| Well, I don't know anything about Kurata but I enjoyed the first episode. I hope I could learn the rules of the games in the next episodes so I could enjoy this series. Love the art! |

| What? You can be poor without having deadbeat parents in anime. The show does look promising but i'm not really feeling the whole game aspect of it. |

| Rewatched this with my friend who has never seen it before. Great start as always!! Based Madhouse. Only problem was having the OP theme in the beginning. I think they should have put it at the end to not ruin the flow of the storytelling. Mamo sounds fucking cute. |
| Love the series. Listened to the full album soundtrack and got deja-vu. It'd been bugging me for a while, but I wanted to know why the intro to "Soshite Ima' sounded so familiar.. and then one day I was listening to one of my Keiko Matsui albums from about a decade ago, and near the end of the song "To the Indian Ocean" on her "Deep Blue" album, I heard those 13 notes. Seems too much to be a coincidence. |
| I've been avoiding this anime because the cover looked like some art I threw into Photoshop and went crazy with the leaf tool on. Just kidding; I wish that was the reason; I'm just going in alphabetical order down my PTW and finally got to the C's. Anyway, this was some good stuff. Many kids suck. Lol Nothing new there. Real stuff right there. My life as an elementary school kid up in this anime. Such profound a comment right here. No but really, good start. Maybe Chi as a weird quirky chick in the present is a kinda weird... choice? I dunno. I'm sure there will be a reason for it, so I'll just wait for that. I already see reasons for other things popping up in episode two that might explain (whoops), so it seems to me like the creators know what they're doing. I'm down for this. |
| The music and the atmosphere in this show feels so amazing as well as the characters design. Unfortunately i think the Karuta game isn't interesting, maybe I'll change my mind later on. Great Episode. |

| Pretty wonderful first episode Bully is no good, I wonder why kids really like to bully other "weaker" kids Especially if that kid is a loner Oh wow the reaction speed is just so fast... I wonder if the pro karuta players in real life can dodge many things just with their reaction speed xD |

| The kids in class are awful, I wouldn't forgive them even if they begged later. I thought that I wouldn't like karuta, but it's interesting so far, at least I can understand something about the game because I liked Saki but I didn't understand a thing about mahjong in the end |

| The music was nice, plus there were some funny facial expressions. This is a very pretty show. Also, wow, both the high school and the elementary school are full of jerks. Not in the way that everyone goes out of their way to hurt others, but damn, they're superficial, eerily apathetic and only mean in a vague, effortless way. I might even whine about Chihaya being set up as the only remotely decent person around, but I guess sometimes schools might just be that frigid. Maybe it's all the other high school shows that are unrealistic. Though it's more likely that school experience is different to everyone, and so even the idealized school settings might resemble reality in some cases. ...I'm probably overthinking this. |

| I think this has a very promising start! The characters show a lot of potential for growth. I wonder whether we'll get many more flashbacks, since I am not a huge fan of those... or whether we'll stay in the present day. The animation and soundtrack were pretty good, too. |
| First episode didnt made too much of an impression in me tbh, but I did enjoy the first 10 minutes alot. Will see, hope it picks up. |

| Fantastic start. -good female lead -cozy atmosphere -splendid visuals -sports hype Overall very, very promising and the flashback did good job at building things up. And I honestly don't get why Chihaya isn't popular with the guys, her moderate tomboyishness and carelessness are making her so cute. |

| With season three upcoming, it seems like this is as good of a time as any to get into this franchise. Karuta doesn’t seem especially interesting, but Chihaya seems like an interesting protagonist. This has potential. |
| Here we go again, 2019. There is a new season going on, best excuse for re-watch than any. But yea about this show. Even though I never even heard about Karuta outside this anime, and even though I'm don't watch many if any Josei anime, I do believe that this is easily one of top 10 anime of all time. It's actually tenth on my most recent list, but haven't seen it in a while so I image that after doing the rewatch, it will shoot up few spots yet again. |

| I really enjoyed it! Fresh concept, good voice acting and visuals (they reminded me so much of "Ore Monogatari!"). And I learned about a card game called karuta. |

| Chihaya's personality is interesting, kinda ditsy. Not a bad thing though. So Wataya was bullied. Must've been rough. All that attention he's receiving in class too.. I couldn't imagine being in his shoes. His dialect is so cute! Taichi was such a little brat lol Overall a really great start. Seeing Chihaya's beginnings with karuta and Wataya's passion was a great experience. |
| Lol, a very solid start. Karuta seems to be one of those very Japanese stuff, so I hope that doesn't stop me from enjoying Chihayafuru. Me being unable to understand what the deal is with Wataya's speech is a bummer but it can't be helped. This was my sixth try at starting something new and it's been the only one that didn't disappoint. Looking forward to the rest |

| Totally forgot what happened since its been so long, so time for a rewatch before starting s3. Arata's memory is quite amazing for a grade schooler on the other end of things Chihaya really should stop blurting out the first things that come into her head lol. |

| HOLY SHIT that’s excessive and I love it. ha, I didn't notice all the holes in the wall from all the other times this apparently happened. If the whole "best karuta player in the world" thing doesn't work out he could always try being an assassin. |
