| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Stupid rollbacks, stop deleting my threads! Anyways the first episode was okay. I could already tell it was shoujo. I didn't like the MAL synposis of Taichi An all-round sportsman, and Chihaya's childhood friend. Because he is a sore loser, he becomes Chihaya's rival in karuta. He seems to have feelings for Chihaya although he has a girlfriend. |

| I guess I'll post this again. I really enjoyed the first episode. It seems that there will be a love triangle which is always welcomed in my book. However, it seems like it won't be much of a triangle, since it seems like Chihaya likes Arata more, and I gotta admit he's as cute as Taichi, who in the first episode has already been portrayed as a jealous jerk, who doesn't know how to express his feelings very well. I'm not sure who I like more, but will see how Taichi fairs against Arata in the following episodes. |

| It wasn't bad by any means - but I can see it will be difficult for people to get excited about an anime based on this weird card game - similarly how it is very difficult to take an anime like ben-to seriously. I know, I seem to be exagerrating and obviously the whole anime will (hopefully) have more depth. Meh, only time will tell. |

| Personally, I could care less about the card game itself. But, Chihaya's dedication to something she loves and the characters themselves is what made this first episode so great. I sense some serious potential here. |

| The beginning of a great series? Time will tell. It looks promising and I'm really looking forward to the new episodes. Still though, 7/10 for me. I hate it that people already rate this 9 of 10 out of 10 because it wasn't THAT special. |

| I haven't watched anime in such a long time. I guess I couldn't find one that really got me hooked. And I found it with Chihayafuru. It really makes me feel giddy watching anime again. And I'm reading the manga so I already love the story too. Yay this is awesome! |

| This first episode was really quite refreshing. Scenery and colours were beautiful, as well as the character design. Strong characters and lovely story to begin with. Hope it keeps up:) |
| Wow I LOVED this first episode! I swear I've heard Chihaya's seiyuu before, but apparently not. I really like her character though! :O FLASHBACK ALREADY?! Wow Taichi was super different when he was a child! O_O ALSO I KNEW IT, HIS VOICE ♥ I don't know much about this game but it looks pretty intense (lol), and Arata was pretty awesome lol XD The art was pretty amazing except even Taichi had his eyelashes super long lol XD Wow now I want to watch more of this XD I liked the OP and ED too, it was quite nice ... ah, glad I started watching this finally XD |
| It's a bit late to start with Chihayafuru now but whatever. Most animes have the tendency to have a weak 1st episode. This one however was quite interesting, I hope it'll stay that way. 24 episodes to go! |

| Wow is all I have to say about this first episode. That exceeded my expectations for sure... it didn't seem like an Anime I would be into considering the theme, but it was actually pretty good. Oh and the ED was amazing as well! :D |

| love the first episode :D the opening and ending is nice! it's good they provided a backstory and why Chihaya loves Karuta. so her name is "swift" huh? soo fast! that Taichi guy is such a fucking jerk. who the hell pushes a girl like that. Arata seems to be the type of person who hangs with people of his interest. i wonder if he has any feelings to Chihaya as well? great start, im starting to like Chihaya now! you can laugh at her putting a pants under a skirt, but she really is a true beauty. stupid people, judging her on how she dress. on to the next episode!! |
| Wow, that was a great episode 1. I've read a bit of the manga years back, and I was not particularly interested in the the anime adaptation, but I think after watching the first episode, I am definitely excited to see the rest of the episodes! I like the art style as well. And though I don't think I'll be able to play Karuta, it is interesting to learn about the game! |

| The start of a dream, this was captured beautifully in the back story of this episode! The amount of detail that has been put into this surely is topnotch. We already see some great development character and story wise. Combined with great art and animation this anime sure has a lot of potential. |

| SDFWEGHWLEKXCV. I was trying so hard not to start with season 2 that I started with episode 25. Oh well, this one feels like it's worth it. I really like Chihaya's character design and personality. Also super accessible since both seasons are on Crunchyroll. |
| 5/5 But what is this stuff? Fabulous! The game did not tell me almost nothing, but the OST and warm colors have ignited my passion. Character design is not the most beautiful, but it seems fit for purpose. Good job Madhouse regarding the animations, the scenarios are not superb, but are still of good quality. How nice to see the characters that children from large to nonn have the same haircut. Curious to find out what in store for me this anime series, given the high rating given by other users! * _ * |

| 1. what brought me here is the beautiful ost. in love with it already 2. not sure if card game will catch my interest. kind of reminds me of yugioh, pokemon... and such. 3. but this one is different. the color tone, ost, the way they talk, & the mood... it has a calm intensity thats very alluring. 7/10 |

| Mmm, this is a really interresting first episode, even if it's a pretty weird game in my opinion xD I wonder how they'll make it and keep it interresting. Anyway, the themes look good. From the OP, I can see that the friend will get closer to the karuta but from the ED, it look like they'll grew to take opposite direction. |
