That was pretty cool. Risky and stupid, yeah, but pretty cool.

Also, who the hell was in charge and did they know a pregnant lady was running?

I can tell you first hand. No.

Among thousands of people -- this is one of the least things to expect. And nobody screens the health of the runners/walkers beforehand. Marathon running/participation is at the discretion of the individual.

Besides, had the woman experience... um... contractions -> birthing process -- medical teams were spread around the course. Plus, so many people watch the marathon. Thus, plenty of help was available.

Well if a lot of help was there, then cool, it all worked out. Still, I'm guessing that's how those weird clauses get on registration/release forms and stuff. People doing strange and crazy things that no one has ever thought of before.

By the way... I was doing volunteer work for the marathon that morning. So, chances are... I've seen this woman go by - among the stragglers near the end.
Well, do you remember any woman with an engorged stomach running by?

At the back of the pack -- you see all sorts of people... with bellies. Odds are - I saw her. But, I wouldn't have noticed pregnancy. Never in my mind would I ever have imagined a pregnant woman moving along on the course.

I kinda get the feeling that she's a shitty mother. I mean, really, to go run a marathon while your pregnant, the child's health be damned.

I was just thinking that the only way to make this story more epic is if she had the baby while still running the marathon.

So?

My mother gave birth to me after a Kit Kat, but you didn't see my face in the paper.

Probably not, the mother is clearly so damned healthy the kid likely won't have near the usual number of problems as is the routine.

Likely doesn't smoke, probably not a drinker, probably eats healthy.

I'm pretty sure women shouldn't do excessive exercise at 39 weeks.
