| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well I found that very disappointing... I went in expecting a new version of the classic bleach episode with the Grand Fisher with several new scenes... What I got was a version of that episode, but with frankly rubbish illustration, poor animation, and nothing new that I noticed! Even the filler has better animation and illustration than this! Avoid it and just rewatch the episode, it's better. |

| I know it was just another version of the same episode but I still liked it. I loved what Ichigos dad says to him. |

| Eh, seems just like a recap of episode 8&9, but i kinda enjoy the trailer of the next arc at the end of the OVA. |

| I really didn't think it was bad, even though it was repetitive... I'm glad it didn't have all those "funny moments" from the anime. That made it more genuine. |
| I found that it had better animation than the actual episodes. Just the art style seemed a little weird. I'm glad it was more serious than the episodes though. :) |
| I actually liked this for only one reason really because it was part of the time in bleach when you just loved the show and it was something that was something that you were dying to see the next week. I watch this every once in a while because it is really great to take me back with the story when i loved this better than almost anything. Now days bleach isn't all that great; and really the fillers are starting to be better than the manga; the plot has just deteriorated so much for what reason i don't know, but it just isn't all that great anymore to me. That's basically the only reasons i gave this ova a 9/10 because its bleach at its prime; nothing but the good old days. It's still a shame that ichigo doesn't know the ground fisher is dead so he can let that rest for good. |

| It's been a long time since I watched the episode that this was based off of, so this was a nice reminder of what happened to Ichigo. Also, considering what Aizen later says about Ichigo's mother, the content of this ova is way more important than than it wa when it first came out. |

| A flashback from the canon episodes.. Pretty good drawing and animation.. more crisped and detailed.. the feeling was somewhat serious and definitely dark about it.. Ichigo's past may prove to show that since his childhood he was already connected with hollows and shinigami alike.. Still kept me wondering why his father was nowhere in sight during ichigo's fight haha The last part where they spoke with each other (father and son) shows Isshin can be serious sometimes and can actually say something inspirational.. :-) |

| Frankly, I thought this was a hell of a lot better than the TV episodes. Probably because it didn't go for comedy as much. The preview of things to come REALLY intrigued me. |

| Well after finishing I'm catching up with these specials and the movies and it does seem that this particular special (except for the epilogue) is mostly the same as the episode it self which was in my opinion not the best episode of the beginning of Bleach! Still quite a touching episode and nice action in general! |

| I've watched Bleach 3 times but somehow I skipped this special. Now I watched it finally, after 7 years. Well nothing impressing but they used all those godly tracks from OST 1. natsukashiii~~ Even if it was just a recap, I can't hate my lovely animu :33 |

| Nothing to crazy seeing as this was in the show, but it was nice and kind of touching towards the end. After having seen all of Bleach its a little weird going back to really early art style the series first had especially the face's. |

| it was a retelling of the story of ichigo meeting the hollow that killed his mother from the anime series. T he story is the same except renji and Byakuya never came to arrest rukia. Ichigos sword was actually a sword and not a giant kitchen knife. |

| pretty nice introduction to it, the music and the.. "poem?" watching this now after having completed the anime is..... like a sudden downer in quality, the one i'm watching also has the sound being a tiny bit off =w=' wow, the kind of humoristic animation they have here was found no-where in the last 100 episodes of the anime .w. ........come to think of it, it got pretty serious there by the ending. not too bad, not too much stuff that was new though so-.. |

| If I ever turn into a hollow, I'll become Grand Fisher for sure. Eating girls/young women is fun! Early 2000s animation really looks good for me. 8/10 |
