THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Holy f*ck.. What a match.. This is something to remember, I had a feeling that Ippo would lose but I kept hoping he'd win.. Hehe.. But, you learn more from losing than you from winning.. This'll be a good experience for him and something to look back and remember when he becomes truly strong in the future.. But I was also expecting that it'd be similar to the Miyata and Mashiba match.. I was hoping to see Ippo's spirit to overpower Date like how there was a greenish glow on Miyata's eyes towards the end of his match against Mashiba.. But hopefully in the next few matches, they'll show this on Ippo.. That moment when the coach was about to throw the towel, he tried to get up.. Damn, that was really something that I cannot describe in words.. And towards the end especially, when Ippo got hit with the Corkscrew Blow, the timing of the towel and at the same time him falling down.. That was really dramatic, a truly epic match.. It was close, Date was beyond his limit but he was proven victor.. And Umezawa played his part well, his cheering was something you can really be happy about.. He supported his friend through the end, never giving up.. "I don't need anymore miracles, your spirit itself is enough of a miracle". Beautiful line, a spectacular match.. |

It was unexpected. However I realized the lack of flashbacks when he got up after the down. He wasn t motivated anymore. And that s why he lacked the weigh in his punch. |

Just...wow. A loss is something Ippo could use, but that doesn't change the fact that this was an amazing match. Both men were past their limits and still managed to hold on. I almost thought Ippo was going to win too. Oh well, now it's time to see how this will affect him.  |

FRIGGIN' AWESOME. I seriously thought that Ippo could still make a comeback, but Kamogawa knew best. This episode was the best ever. Can't wait to see how this plays out.  |

this was an AWESOME episode. But I'm just lost a bit. There is this musical piece with a guitar and piano playing, with a very sad theme just before ippo lost. it starts @ around 16.07 when he starts crawling up. I have both the Hajime no Ippo OST's, but can't seem to find this song in either of them. I MUST HAVE THIS MUSIC....any help would be GREAT. It's just so moving and fitting for this moment. I believe it was played when Miyata was losing against Mashiba. |

Wow. My jaw literally dropped when it cut to Ippo lying on the mat after all his body blows while leaning against Eiji. As for Ippo losing, well... I've always had the thought since Ippo's first few matches that Ippo being undefeated throughout the entire series would make me lose some respect for Hajime no Ippo, but damn, seeing him lose is definitely saddening. |

It was a spectacular fight! You never knew what that could happen! Little sad that Ippo didn't win, hope that he get a new chance to fight Date again later :P You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me The Sword Art Online light novel is the shit! While the Sword Art Online anime is just shit... |
