"And if, there were so many people in the world, there had to be someone living an interesting life that wasn't ordinary. I was sure of it. Why wasn't that person me?"
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Part V
I had a feeling that Jin had killed his master after his conversation with the shogi playing guy. I based it on Jin saying to Mugen in ep 1 that he was the first person he couldn't kill. Nice to see this confirmed and having the overarching plot open up a little even in a silly episode like this.
I remember that by the first time I watched the show, this episode got me hooked and was a decisive one. This was the one that made me say: this show must never be forgotten and rewatched at least once a year.
The beatboxing dude, the introduction to foreing stuff of that time, like Grape wine and some of Jin's backstory where masterfully done. Neither much, neither little.
Well the beatboxing as well as big guy himself were hilarious - enough for a great laugh. Surprisingly we also have some kind of plot progression or rather some characterization for him whilst learning about his past so it's been decent episode all in all.
