| I agree with his seconds, he should stop using his right, Mashiba is badly hurt enough that he can do this with lefts alone. kinda surprised that he didn't respond to the girl cheering for his opponent though. with how the fight is dragging, and the fact that they mentioned the point total at all, and the fact that they keep saying it'll defintely be a KO victory, I'm wondering if this will end in a TKO. |

| This fight reminds me of the film Rocky, where in one of the sequels, he goes up against a Russian with an attitude like Mashiba's. A real 'death match'. That opponent has no value of human life. He's a killer. |

| Mashiba's intention was to destroy Ippo's fist first but his elbow gave in right before that happened. It would've been an easy victory right then and there but both fighters show unparalleled determination that made them surpass the limits of their human bodies. It's understandable but I don't really like how Mashiba's imouto is worried as hell for her brother yet at the same time not really minding the brutality of his actions throughout his career so far. This is a match where any side could take the win! Both of them have so much on the line and I feel like it won't be the end of either of them if they do lose. |

| Best episode in the series so far, very intense and emotional. A detail I really loved a lot were some scenes which clearly were a homage to the trademark style of Osamu Dezaki / Akio Sugino. Intense action scenes were frozen into close ups of he faces, with picture style art and coarse lines. Not only a nod to the masters, also very much fitting this anime and contributing well to the intense atmosphere. |
