Honestly, why does everyone, Araragi included, like Sengougahara so much? She's somewhere between a yandere and a kuudere and doesn't even get that dere-dere. This stuff Araragi spouts about her being a "tsundere" is BS. It's wishful thinking on its best day. Did I mention she's sociopathic? That too. NO redeeming qualities. |

Ask jpem, I don't understand it either. In spite of being a main character, she got just about much screen time as the other supporting characters. Plato is my friend — Aristotle is my friend — but my greatest friend is truth |

Mental issues shouldn't get in the way of love. Plus she's hot. What's your problem? There's more to her love than just bloody staplers. |

Not dere-dere? Did you even watch past episode 2? Her insults may continue but she tones down quite a bit fairly fast. Her witty conversations were fun, but her character development was what made her great. By episode 12 she was quite "dere-dere" while still retaining her wittiness. Because you know characters with multiple dimensions do exist...I know, who would have thought. Modified by jpem, 09-30-11, 6:37 PM ![]() Where is sniper's island? It's in your heart. |

The only other applicable character would have been Hanekawa, the other girls are too young, dead or a lesbian. He considered Hanekawa more of a friend. |

I like Senjougahara and Nadeko. Senjougahara can(IS) harsh with her words, but i sense that deep inside, she's still a normal girl. |

I prefer Hanekawa because honestly, Senjou is a bitch. More often then not, you'd think she's psychotic. Background and character specifics can only carry you so far before you end up just being an annoying and unpleasing character. |

Psyxwar said: She has purple hair. Actually, apparently she has brown hair I think, as shown in Ep 12... (I think?) More importantly, isn't 'Love' blind? That of course pertains to Araragi, who's a half-god anyway because of his shadow. As for a viewer like me, I find her a likeable character first of all because she's a badass. That amount of staplers is awesome, plus her role in Monkey. She's a perfect character(like every main mahou shoujo main girl I know of...) who excels in everything. I also really liked her Arc(another I would love to see, if animated (Source Material is completed: Shinobu Time), is Shinobu, and hell, that's another hell-of-a-popular character too) and how she reacted to it. Of Crab, Snail, Monkey, Snake and Cat, she acted the best: let's see Crab: Proposes war, but in the end prays to Crab Snail: Oddity was Araragi, he led snail to home Monkey: A forbidden treasure of selfish wishes. Overriden by infatuation Snake: A victim of two curses Cat: A persistent liar's breaking down The one who 'did' anything at all, honestly, was Senjougahara. Her story carried the most weight for me too, like all stories of familial ties.(see my favourite) The anime ending also reveals one thing clearly: she gives Araragi purpose and the necessity to live. There is adequate proof she cares about Araragi. Her words are simply as they are: words. They add to the 'badass-ery' statistic. The full LN stories about her/that feature her aren't even released yet, I think she will add to be an even more likeable character later. All in all, that adds up to a very likeable character. I do like a lot of characters, but Senjougahara is one of the upper-tier in terms of likeability. If I had to make a comparison to another who I also like very much, it would be Holo. KeiranShikari said: People like damaged characters. People like cute damaged characters. Senjougahara isn't cute. Someone who attacks you with a stapler ceases to be cute and her character design isn't cute-type to begin with; it's beautiful-type. hayatekun24 said: Senjougahara is harsh with her words, but i sense that deep inside, she's still a normal girl. Normal girls don't attack people with school supplies. jpem said: Not dere-dere? Did you even watch past episode 2? Her insults may continue but she tones down quite a bit fairly fast. Because you know characters with multiple dimensions do exist...I know, who would have thought. Less insulting =/= dere-dere. Sure it can indicate that she likes him, but liking someone isn't dere-dere. At no time was there any action that one would call dere-dere, not even a blush. Senjougahara is my waifu. The thing that makes her so well liked is her eccentricity she isn't the typical tsundere stereotype that is SO overused. "tsundere service" has never been more badass She also has a soft side, and it's not the kind of mushy submissive type, she's still in charge but still treats Araragi with genuine affection. So she's a pretty good girlfriend just treat her right or suffer the consequences. + For also being hot |

KeiranShikari said: People like damaged characters. Senjougahara has her issues sure, but I wouldn't go as far as to call her "damaged". Lauriet said: I prefer Hanekawa because honestly, Senjou is a bitch. More often then not, you'd think she's psychotic. Background and character specifics can only carry you so far before you end up just being an annoying and unpleasing character. That's debatable. Every one has their own perspective on the opposite sex. You might prefer a docile and adorable type where as Araragi prefers the more challenging and beautiful kind. IMNOTCRAZY said: Did I mention she's sociopath? Again, debatable. It could just be your too optimistic and believe everyone is made out of sunshine and rainbows IMNOTCRAZY said: She's somewhere between a yandere and a kuudere and doesn't even get that dere-dere. What does this one particular personality trait have to do with Senjougahara, Araragi, and the story? IMNOTCRAZY said: This stuff Araragi spouts about her being a "tsundere" is BS. Maybe you should pay closer attention because even Araragi acknowledges she's the Tsundere without the dere-dere. I suspect the only reason they use the word Tsundere is because there's just no other way to describe her personality. IMNOTCRAZY said: NO redeeming qualities. Senjougahara is very logical, intelligent, well versed, and extremely beautiful. Of course those are trait you personality might not find attractive. To each his own. In my opinion Senjougahara is the epitome of life. She might be a sociopath, verbally abusive, likes throws you in awkward situations, and dangerous but I say that's a small price to pay to have a life that will never cease to be interesting.
