It was a good season finale. I remember thinking there might be something fishy about that contract at the time, but I completely forgot about it by the end...it was a good twist.

I'll eagerly await season 3.

Poor Kaiji lol, but I'm not surprised, it was clear that he would be left with almost nothing, a great second season overall, 9/10.

Although the show doesn't get high sales, it does get high viewer ratings and it boosts manga sales and other merchandise so maybe Madhouse will continue doing Fukumoto's manga.

That's good to know.

It was a pretty nice ending, and the OP from season 1 was a GREAT touch. But Kaiji is still Kaiji. He'll get in trouble again for sure. That's the problem when you're so moe like him. :3

So many great moments in this episode. It felt really hearwarming and touching. In the end I could do nothing but cry with them. This series was fucking intese, really great stuff.

The moment when they reunited and the son went into a dogesa was great.

That was the perfect ending. Broke, unlucky, always struggling for survival...yet, still lucky and not broken. And finally, after all these years, not alone in his misery. And to top all of this, they just had to play Mirai wa Bokura no Te no Naka.

I had considered to lower the score by one, as the pacing wasn't as good as season 2 but this ending made it 10/10 again.

Kaiji's being careless again. :/
I can't agree more with Endou that Kaiji's not mature enough after those events.
Kaiji will always be Kaiji. xD

And damn, the OP 1 song was nostalgic.

Overall, it gets a 9/10 from me. If there's another season, I'll wait for it. :D

"ENDOUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!111!!!11!!!1"

Oh the typical you, Kaiji, getting all excited before you have to read the fine print.

What a warm ending as well as every single character cried their so moe-manly tears in this episode. It was a sensational experience going through the entire season, though it was a bit dragging at times particularly the recent bog arc.

I lol'ed when Kaiji lost his part playing Pachinko. He's still such an idiot xD. I was just waiting for Endou to betray him. I'd go to the bank asap after getting all that cash. He's probably going to try to get revenge in season 3.
I don't think the break between seasons will be as long as last time, considering that Kaiji seems to be really popular in Japan nowadays. So I say 2 years.

Am I the only one here who didn't like the 2nd season? It's not shitty by any means but it sucks compared to the 1st season. I mean there were like two games, that dice thingy and pachinko, and neither of them were really entertaining (especially if compared to the life threatening games in S1). Also Kaiji makes such a big deal about repaying his friends and then just wastes the money on pachinko? Hasn't he learned anything from his mistakes? No character development at all it seems. On top of that there's a sucky side cast with that old man crying even more than Kaiji and Ichijou, who's personality is completely shallow and childish ("I was treated bad in the past so I must rise to power and hurt everyone" HURR DURR). Also, who didn't see some kinda backlash coming the very MOMENT Kaiji (against better knowing) signed yet another shady contract from Endouh? It was so called for that he'd end up with nearly no money again... Maybe I'm a bit to harsh here, but I am really disappointed and can't rate this higher than 5/10. It has "mediocre" written all over it and it wasn't keeping me on the edge of my seat, as I was used to from S1.

It surely isnt as good as s1, but I still loved it.
I honestly think I would have like s2 just as much as s1 if I would have waited for it to finish airing haha.

But I do prefer the s2 ending over the s1 ending.
This episode was too damn good.

Was anyone a little pissed off that Kaiji blew the left over winnings after freeing everyone on pachinko? Really? You just almost lost your life to slavery because of your gambling and the first thing you do is go back to it. What happened to his resolve to turn his life around at the beginning of season 2? Other than that it was the ending I hoped for. I 'm surprised to hear there is going to be a season 3 given this felt like closure on kaiji. Anyway 9/10.

Just for the everyone's reference, 100,000 YEN is just $1000....

Secondly, the grand majority of Pachinko machines are nothing like the bog. You spend about $100 and get back $70-$80 if you screw up or if you're lucky you make about $120-$200 back and get a little back. It's a convenient way in urban Japan to spend a little money and kill time.

Yes, Kaiji is a loser but you guys make it sound like him playing pachinko again is some huge crime. There's a big difference between playing a $1000 per play slot machine versus a penny slot. He's just killing time.

I was disappointed with this season as well. Mostly because the bog arc took forever and lost its excitement/intensity fairly early... also wasn't the most interesting thing to begin with. At least it had a great final episode, very satisfying.

Edges out a 7/10.

Hey, don't be harsh on Sakazaki! He's one of the best characters. He manages to bring comedy into an otherwise serious anime while still feeling realistic.

I can't help but agree on Ichijou, though. It feels like if he wasn't the closest Fukumoto has ever come to drawing a bishounen, he wouldn't be as popular. He's not half as competent and tragic as fangirls make him out to be either. I seriously hope he doesn't come back (I don't believe there has been any mention of him so far in series 3 or 4, but who knows what will happen?). Compared to Tonegawa, Funai or Otsuki, he's a bland fucking villain.

Also, if anyone has questions regarding series 3, I'm willing to answer them.

1.
I can be a bit more specific if you'd like.
2. You seriously expect me to know that? I meant information about the manga, like what characters re-appear and what games there are. In other words, story-related questions. I have no idea when it's getting an adaptation.
3. I'm reading part 3 right now.
