Considering the series hasn't even aired yet in Japan, this seems to be kind of a baffling decision. I mean, what if the series doesn't turn out well? I'm not to sure how this translating business works. But, do these companies usually license something before it airs. Because, if they do, it doesn't strike me as a good business decision. They do this every season.. it just means they are simulcasting that anime on "The Anime Network", a streaming service owned by their parent company. Having read what's translated in the novel I'm not sure how well this will do with an American audience. You really need to be well acquainted with anime and games to get the majority of the jokes. Especially the Gundam ones...the entire Chris route was a big Gundam joke and you would need quite a bit of previous knowledge to get the jokes. There's also the issue with the studio...the only thing they've done so far is Carnival Phantasm which has been done well but those are just OVAs. Who knows how well they'll do a TV series. I can't say that I'm looking forward to this adaptation but I'll watch it and compare it to the novel regardless. ![]() |

Funimation picked up Oretsuba, and that anime makes like no sense without playing the original visual novel first, and it hasn't been translated to English. Basically they're just hoping the boobs will sell it. ![]() |

Well American audiences also include some hardcore otakus as well. Anyway, I thought the illustration style looked a bit fanservice-y. Then I realized the illustrator of the manga did some hentai manga before... I'm not sure about the direction this is going though... Also, the author... is ok. Nothing too outstanding but not too bad though. Anyway, cannot judge until the actual series comes out. bla bla bla The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.Niko-kun said: On MAL, everyone who has used the lame rating system becomes a critic and an intellectual by default, haven't you heard? |

There's a lot more comedy and parodies in it compared to fanservice which means if it's a decent adaptation the fanservice wont really be a selling point to it. It could be the naming scheme though...they already have the other "Samurai Girls" show licensed which was a pure fanservice show and maybe they're trying to market it as something similar. ![]() |

Sentai Filmworks has licensed one of the most boring-looking anime of the upcoming season before it even airs in Japan. Do they have money to throw around or something? |

Do you know anything about MajiKoi? Theres a reason its been one of the highest priority fan translation VNs the last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mFs1u9yYX0 Sadly they're likely only going to be able to do the True Route since its only 12 episodes Modified by RyanSaotome, 09-26-11, 7:18 PM ![]() |

The "prologue" has no ecchi/fan service at all. The end of the second halve is where most of the hentai is. So they shouldn't be able to screw it up that badly if they only animate the first halve. |
