THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
He was tired because he returned bunches of youkais' names, before test.

Both Tanuma and Natsume changed, for better!

People are discussing about where to go after test. Talk about graduation and what to do in the future and both Tanuma and Natsume were thinking the same thing!! lol~

Some youkais came to invite Natsume for party among those who knows Natsume.

Saki thinking about continuing her grandpa's research.

Natsume got caught by the youkai for the party by force! Every youkai appearing! lol~ hide and seek!! Natsume remembering that people being friendly first meeting, but getting him out once he "talk" weird for them. No ED theme aired..

Cannot wait for 4th season next January!!

Great episode! I liked the fact that he didn't have to chose between one of the two worlds that he lives in.

I wonder if Taki will play a bigger role later on since she wants to learn more? Hopefully some romance?

Anyway, this season had some great episodes I just wish that the animation quality had been the same as the first season.

It's going to be hell without Natusme on Monday mornings.

This was adorable. It was the most ending-like of the entire series last episodes so far. I just love Natsume Yuujinchou, and I'm sad we'll have to wait awhile 'till the next episode. :) But this episode sufficed for a million, so heart-warming..

I'll be waiting for the next episode of this series! :3
I used to compare this show to Mushishi, but I stopped. Mushishi is much more serious, whereas Natsume Yuujinchou is wonderful and light-hearted, and it also has some character development and consistency.
IMO, Mushishi is better overall, but I enjoy both shows very much :D

My heart melted. What an adorable way to end such a great series. Although there wasn't that much closure, but that's what season 4 gonna fix.

Can't wait for the next season, hopefully it'll be as heart warming as the previous seasons.

The last two episodes were amazing. I laughed so hard when Nyanko-sensei was angry he was having fun, and the when he started stomping on everyone LOL. I loved it. Such an amazing anime, I can't get over it, I love it so much. I'll be sad until season four.

It was a fitting finale to yet another heartwarming season of NY, but I missed the more melancholic atmosphere of Zoku. My favourite episodes were the one with the youkai in the tree, the one with Taki's grandpa and of course episode 12.

Such a lovely final episode ♥ It set a wonderful ending to the third season, all in all. I love how heart-warming, funny and simply charming it is.

It’s really nice to see how attached Natsume has gotten to his friends — ayakashi and humans alike. It certainly shows how much he has changed in the time we’ve seen him.

Taki vs. Nyanko-sensei scene cracks me up.

Natsume and Tanuma thinking about what they’d do in the future were hilarious. My, just imagine them like that! It was obvious why they outright reject the idea as soon as they had it. Although somehow I wouldn’t mind Natsume with sparkles, just like Natori. Lol.

Nyanko-sensei drunk can do quite a ruckus – and Natsume’s punch can end it all in a blink.
Seeing all of them have so much fun playing shadow-tag makes me feel so, so happy ;__;

I can’t wait for January and winter season to come around~

Fourth season, yes, I’ll be waiting for you~!
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

Playing tag for the first time with a group of high energy, powerful spirits more then makes up for missing out with children.
I'll also add the Natsume and his friends (the human ones) shouldn't focusing on growing up, life's too short. :(

I'm a being of little empathy, however, I can actually relate to Natsume's position a little...
Meeting new people is fine at first, but it doesn't take long for them to view you as 'weird'; this has been the case for me my entire life and things (i.e. people) don't change as you get older frankly, you do just have to fall upon good luck and encounter pleasant individuals.

Looking forward to the next series...
I'll enjoy this winter; halloween, bomb fire night, christmas, newyear and Natsume season 4. ;)

Then they find out that Natsume didnt really know how to play because it was his first time~

That was such a fun episode (and again, every supporting character suddenly shows up. Even Natori and Matoba-- in thought bubbles). I was laughing so hard at Nyanko who doesn't know how to play fair, and at Natsume getting sexually harassed by Hinoe.
lol! Natsume's youkai friends are the best.

Anyway, what I love most about this episode is the way that Natsume finally acknowledged how grateful he is of his ability to see youkai and the way he embraces the fact that both humans and youkai have equal places in his heart. *~squee* :)

*can't wait for January!*

I didn't really feel like a season-ending episode but I guess that's typical for this show. I'm glad to hear that there will be a fourth season although given the pacing of the first three, I'm not sure that anything will happen.

I missed Reiko this season. Hopefully, we'll see more of her in the next. While watching this episode, I started thinking about where the show might go (which is kind of weird since I didn't know that it was the final episode while I watched it). I wonder if Reiko's spirit will ever make an appearance.

I honestly think I'm going to start calling Natsume overrated. Is it a good show? Yes. Is it worth watching? Sure. Is it a great show? Not really. It's certainly not the 8.76 that is currently listed as the score. There are a handful of great individual youkai stories each season, but looking at all 3 seasons as a whole, the pacing and character development are atrocious, and Natsume himself isn't really a good character. It took him 3 seasons to even admit that he might actually like these people who we've been getting to know as side characters. And all this is putting aside the fact that there isn't really any plot. From the beginning, I always thought Reiko was one of the most interesting characters, and we rarely even get to see her. For every great individual story, there are twice as many that are underwhelmingly mediocre. For every great character, human or youkai, there are twice as many who are completely forgettable. I like Natsume Yuujinchou, I really do. I just kind of wish people would stop worshiping the ground it walks on.

Time zones can be confusing.

I am really going to miss this anime but it seems they will be back in 3 months judging from the preview.

Seriously? I can list a couple of shows which aren't really that "great" in my opinion yet still managed to get scores of 9 and above.

You know what they say, "it's all a matter of personal taste." I'm not even going to bother defending the show or trying to convince you to look at the show the same way as we, the fans, do.

It ended on a good note, but the episode itself was underwhelming. I tend to prefer the stories that are more bittersweet... Overall this season was very hit and miss, I'd probably rank this below the first two, but still one of my favorite shows of the summer. Looking forward to S4 and hopefully we'll get a few more Reiko flashbacks.
