I dont think I've seen an anime episode since this one that utterly surprised the hell out of me with a twist like that. And I've seen a shit load of anime since this.

I really got surprised by the twist at the end of the episode. I also am quite satisfied that the "abduction" of Serrano and Aoi's motives were given further explanation.

Yeah. I know I've witnessed a good twist when I actually say "No F**king way!" out loud. Well, several people have said that the Major and the Laughing man have comparable hacking skills...Guess this helps prove it.
Your search on "Oran Solus" returned the following quotes:
"Oran Solus? I know him. What a wanker. He still owes me a tenner." Oscar Wilde
"Oran, you're so intelligent and awesome <3" Bakayaro
"Oran's sexy." LolitaDecay
"Oran is a sophisticated penguin." Drybananna
"Oran is a Hand-Eye you faggots." EddieSpaghetti
"Oran for Prime Minister." the_prime_one
"Oran is all that is stated in his sig and more." orbitzz

I never thought of Serrano being so fool but that acting from the Major was just incredible. For a second i just thought: "Wah? The Laughing Man a idealist?" Cool twist.

Freaking awesome episode, even before the incredible surprise at the end. A lot of good information was revealed and now stuff is starting to fall into place for Section 9 to take down the root of all this crap.

So, I fell for it again. Man, my memory must be bad. It took me to the scene where the Laughing Man meets Batou in the ally way before I went "Oh yeah."

It seems Motoko took the data Laughing Man gave her and put it to good use.

I did not see that ending coming, never suspected a thing...

I loved getting a further explanation of the situation, a lot of things are happening with the case, but piece by piece the case is getting put together.

wow just wow O______O

really fooled me COMPLETELY. the best twist ever made :P

so that's how it all started, it all make sense now when you put all the pieces in the puzzle. i guess we can blame the Ministry of Health for being an incompetent fool who thinks Micromachines are the ideal future.

so basically in the end Major and Aoi are working together???? wow just wow i guess Major did inherit some of Aoi hacking skills.

so "The Laughing Man" is an all made up story that derived from the hostage taking of Aoi and Serano huh. still i want to see the guy that killed Nanao(in the early episodes)

fuck yeah awesome episode, the best twist EVER :P

Holy Crap, Motoko was the laughing man the whole time? I greatly enjoyed how the past event tied to this arc, now it all makes sense. Well, almost, The Laughing Man still looks like an idealist with no real motive behind his actions so far.

Yeah, a great twist. Now it makes sense why the Major was given Laughing Man's memories. For his purposes it doesn't really matter if it had been Motoko or Aoi who did that. Of course this also means we can't trust whatever was revealed about Laughing Man in this episode.

The design was fabulous, so detailed and colorful in a divine way, seemed to see something different than in the past. History finally begins to unravel at the end of the episode I was left puzzled and even think I had in mind the time when LM and Motoko come together to exchange information, it opens the Major immediately puts to good use! Now comes the fun part! XD

The fact that Warai Otoko passed her his memories and telling her to reveal the truth behind the nanomachine tech and General-Secretary Yakushima's wrongdoings is likely because of his inability to appear outside easily. Being confined in the prison-like facility, it is in fact quite obvious that Warai Otoko isnt the one who did talk to Serrano. Anyways, Warai Otoko is indeed an individual, but all he did was the threat and warning to Serrano, all those ransom, corporate terrorism and underground tricks and deals were all done by the higher-ups. Why? For the advancement of science and technology? To instill terror on the civilians? Or...just to gain total power?

Oh wow, I never though Serano could have been the victim in the whole affair. So someone saboted the micromachine to blackmail Serano. That's pretty fucked up.

It was the Major the whole time. Didn't saw this coming too. So what was the Laughing Man plan? I really wonder what will happen, only 3 episode left, the final showdown is coming. Conspiracy will be brought to light.

The twists and turns are wasted at the end of this exciting anime series.
Then you resume that this was part of the plan of the Laughing Man; Now the evidence and connections with "the powers that be" are revealed.
Let's see what happens.
Drawings and animations good.
I wonder if it was just Batou or the whole team to know of Plan B!

Okay, that twist got me too. That was one of the best surprise moments I've had in awhile.

I do think the background on the Catcher was genuine; after all, he gave Motoko his memories. This just proved that they weren't false memories in addition to helping Section 9 further their case. I think her presentation of the Catcher's ideals were likely true too, since she was acting as him- it is possible that the Catcher is still "less mature/more naive", though.

So the entire Laughing Man phenomena was made up... I wouldn't say Serano was a complete victim here, though: They were hiding information from the public that was causing direct harm, in the name of profit. That's disgusting.

I already had an opinion of this episode until that ending. Well whether or not that was the true "Laughing Man" we still got plenty of insight into his character by seeing the flashback. Seems he's just a red pilled SJW who's reputation has been manipulated for selfish gains.

Oh my gosh, SAC is getting better and better and it was already awesome all along. Motoko is glorious, probably the best female character I have seen in an anime to this date. That hacking and acting. Thinking back, after the twist was revealed I also liked how Batou fooled those detectives a second time.
