Ugh, what a pussy. If he sucks so bad then why doesn't he just quit and train? Hopefully Ippo kicks his ass. Clinching and spying is just plain cowardly.

Not liking the clinching, but the guy is playing the hand he was dealt. At least he is able to make himself bothersome to opponents, I want to see him get knocked out though.

... kind of a boring match due to that guys fighting style =/ seems Ippo is in a bit of trouble though but I'm sure he'll get through in the end.

Reading all of these uneducated comments from most of you fools is too funny, this style is technically one of the best styles to have in boxing if you want to be the best ala Floyd Mayweather Jr, whereas Floyd was born with good power, Kobashi however has no natural talents on his side whatsoever unlike Ippo has, therefore Kobashi has no choice to use these underhanded tactics, perfectly legal, but not a pretty sight, frankly when I see an underdog who has no chance of winning, I can't help but to root for them, in this case Kobashi is most definitely the underdog in this match up.

Also to those saying "what a coward" this guy is, i'd like to see you get into the ring and putting your life on the line for such a small amount of money, especially against a devastating puncher like Ippo, I highly doubt you'd be singing the same tune.

I knew that would be a nice opponent. Is tactic is really lame, but the guy is smart. He know how to use the adversary tactic at his advantage. Ippo is losing control and is self-trust.

I'm sure he'll, after all, he can't lose against someone this lame. But I wonder how he'll be able to counter his hanging, he have two round left to figure it.

Ippo seriously needs to stop swinging wide, that's how Kobashi keeps catching Ippo in his clinch.

But he doesn't suck. Maybe you should re-watch the episode.

Why would he enter in the first place then. Your reasoning doesn't make sense.

On topic though;
Jeez what an underhand tactic, Ippo knock this ass down a peg or two.

In 2 episodes they reversed the underdog role from Ippo to Kobashi. I would be fine with a Kobashi win as a total upset.

Boring style or not, Kobashi is winning the fight so far. Don't hate the player etc etc.

I wonder if his is a normal Japanese name or an actual homage to famous wrestler Kenta Kobashi?

Not really a big fan of Kobashi's boxing style, it's too pussy-like xD. I hope Ippo can keep his composure and beat Kobashi's ass in the next episode.

What a disgusting way of boxing. What do you accomplish by barely winning matches through cheap tactics? I don't see how someone would find joy in fighting this way.

Annoying how Ippo's efforts are wasted with those tactics, but fighters have different methods of fighting. Maybe he should pick a different career though.

Kobashi's passiveness and his very unremarkable fighting style led them to getting deceived by how dangerous he can be in the ring. He's doing everything by the book even if it goes against what the crowd wants and it's definitely working so far. He'll be the farthest thing to a fan favorite but a win is a win.
