When I first watched Sekirei (now reading the manga) it didn't really seem like anything special, but it had the elements that I liked, such as lots of women with fighting abilities, one dude caught in the middle, so on so forth. But after thinking over the concept of Sekirei, i found it to be really smart. 1. you don't have to explain why all these girls like this one guy, who isn't good at much of anything, because you can just explain it away as he is their ashikabi, they don't have the real power of choice, but the love feeling that they have, is all the same. 2. the relationship between an ashikabi and a sekirei is basically a Master-servant one, but if you call it an ashikabi to sekirei relationship, then there is no negative connotation. 3. you throw in a interesting story and vuala, you have a successful story.

There is much more to it than that, but those are the ones that stuck out to me. Anyone else agree or disagree with me?
