OMG i literally screamed like a girl seeing this (and i'm a guy lol). I had a feeling it would happen because of strong DVD/Blu-ray sales.
I'll admit third season was slightly weaker than season 2, the Matoba arc wasn't my cup of tea, but i still love this series to death and the last episode pretty much cancelled out the boring Matoba arc.
masserati94 said: I agree with anyone who thinks that season 4 should be more like season 2, the third season is good but it's far too dark to be a Natsume Yuujinchou show, and compared to season 2 is rather disappointing.
Yes, the 3rd is darker than the previous seasons but it still has it's sweet tone what we all love.
Unfortunatelly (or decide it yourself, actually I like this change, makes the story more colorful) the next season will has the same feeling as this one. It'll be kind, heart-warming, but sometimes pretty dramatic and cruel. We'll have nice stories, stories which will make us cry, and the ones where we'd gladly kill someone.
I think for me the change in tone was so sudden that it took me by surprise which is why I felt disappointed, don't get me wrong, there are some excellent episodes in season 3, I would have just preferred a gradual tone change than a sudden one, I still love the show though.
Ah, cool. The winter season's shaping up to be pretty decent so far with this and Nisemonogatari (plus some carry-overs from fall and over pretty good looking shows).
I kind of hope this gets Natsume out of Brain Base's system, though, so they can focus on some other series of theirs that need sequels too like Durarara!!, Spice and Wolf, Kuragehime, etc. Oh well, I'll enjoy this show anyway while it's here.
