A nice episode, I'm glad that it was shown how Natsume met it's current guardians...:)

God, couldn't stop crying at the end!!! TT^TT It was just so sweett!!!!!!!

An episode like this is what makes a fourth season worth making.

Best episode of the season, there was simply everything making Natsume what it is. Also, best flashback of the season in any series.

Omg that was so sad! Poor poor little Natsume :( He was having such a hard time dealing with the people around him (luckily his nii-chan in that family was kinda nice to him) and then he almost get spirited away by some freaky youkai who wants to keep him as pet! But it was soooo emotional when Touko (Fujiwara-san?) came to him and asked him to live with her and Shigure <33 I just melted when he was crying and told them he really wanted to live with them <3

Woot, character development! (would have liked some Reiko though) I want moar Reiko! I'm assuming there's going to be a season 4 since next episode seems like it won't be too significant.

^^^^ Same here. Soo wished that it had more episodes. This was yet another emotional tear jerker. T.T

YES! I really love this episode because it's a flashback of Natsume's past... <3

I think this was my favourite episode of the whole series, it was really good.

To think that Natsume thought that Touko was a youkai the first time he met her. I am so happy found Touko-san and Shigerou-san asked him to come live with them they are really good people.

Loved this episode. It was quite sad as-well.

;_; Oh god this chapter. This is I agree the best episode of the season. I crieeeddd especially when Natsume said he wanted to go with them.

What a sweet episode. Probably the best of the season, too. I couldn’t stop the warm feelings I’ve got because of the Fujiwara’s (especially Touko-san’s) kindness.

“Food made with love tastes better.”

… I must say, I’m glad the son of the last family he was with before moving in with the Fujiwara’s was really nice – not everyone is uncaring, and Natsume is not just a boy no one liked.

I almost teared up when Natsume did. I loved that scene.

Next episode is the last, oh why? ;__;

… still when winter season comes around, we know we’ll have more Natsume. ♥

What a heartwarming episode.

The hospital scene made me warm and fuzzy inside.

Then the ED song played to match the atmosphere. Brilliant, just brilliant.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again--I love how well the Natsume Yuujinchou series deals with the theme of family. Crowning moment of heartwarming at the end of this flashback.

It's official. This episode makes Natsume the best character ever.

Will the final episode even be able to top this one?! Me thinks not. One of the best episodes of Natsume yet!
