im trying to get my friend at school to watch anime, hes 15, but he refuses to watch japanese subbed and will only watch dubbed. he also only watches anime with his sister, whos 13. They both watch naruto but want a new anime, and im stuck with ideas to recomend to them. They like action, comedy, romance anime. they dont want one thats too scary, they are both really child like. remember it has to be ENGLISH DUBBED!!!

You just recommend good dubs without considering this is for a 13 year old girl, explicitly mentioning no scary stuff. So I'd say Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Baccano and the like are inappropriate.

Samurai Champloo and the Ghibli movies should be good. And since they like Naruto you could try One Piece too.

I'd also count Samurai Champloo as 'inappropriate' as well then lol.

Ouran's High School Host Club or Soul Eater if they want something more related to Naruto (fighting/comedy).

Soul Eater and One Piece would be good picks- as long as it isn't the 4Kids dub.
Seirei no Moribito would also be a good choice.
FMA/FMA: Brotherhood most definitely

A good point, the age of the viewers definitely needs to be taken into account. I'm saying the Ghibli films and Soul Eater because, as much as I dislike Naruto, it seems like the two do have a SOMEWHAT similar feel (I feel dirty just saying that)
Harems don't exist in America. If one guy is constantly surrounded by beautiful girls, then he's probably the gay friend.

I think one of the best dubs made is Code Geass. I found no annoying voices and the syncing was perfect.

I couldn't help but laugh... anyways considering they're both kids, give'em some Harems or ecchi, that'll get their hormones pumping; Love Hina, Air Gear, Mahoromatic. Stray from the shounen garbage.

mushishi has a fairly decent dub. then again, if they're watching naruto, they might not appreciate it because it's a fairly polar opposite to generic shounen.

Definitely Highschool of the Dead. The dubs sound so professional and I even like them better than the subs. Honestly, that's the only dubbed anime I like.
Dont touch me I'm in despair.

Judging by their age I'd say Rurouni Kenshin and FMA: Brotherhood are your best bets. Both series have all 3 of the qualities you mentioned, and they don't have any scary or overly mature content.

Darker than Black

About the same blood/violence as Naruto so no 13 year-old girl worries there. Unless you
're watching the crappy censored dub.

I second Haruhi Suzumiya. I usually watch it subbed, but I've seen the first season dubbed, and thought it was pretty good.

Trigun also has a pretty good dub. Personally, I don't like the Ouran dub, but some people do, and it is an excellent show. Studio Ghibli usually has good dubs.

I don't really watch much dub, so that's all I have.
