THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Hard to find good things to say about the visual part (the colors and lighting effects do look nice but the overall rendering is mostly bad due to the lack of budget) but the stories are really well-written and the characters still awesome. Well, it's Masamune Shirow's Appleseed...  In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same. |

I felt it got a bit preachy at the end, with the whole 'the hostages are fertilized eggs! Things that don't even have the beginnings of limbs are people too!' Felt like it was a clear example of an Author Filibuster, tho at least it didn't last too long. Wish the animation quality was better, if they're gonna make us wait a month for each episode they could at least have spent more time on the shading. Dunnan seemed a lot cuter and, I dunno, more 'feminine' this episode. Maybe it was just her being whiny, lol. Intriguing story tho. 3/5 |

Again, budget issues. I would have preferred if they kept standard anime style though.... The story is slowly unfolding but the characterization so far is rather weak. bla bla bla The endless debate between fans and haters. Only thing to say is this. What have they done with Deunan? Not really a fan of this adaption at all.. also the animation is terrible and the shading worse than any cgi I ever saw. And also.. they are not just lazy but cheating. In some of these scenes the frame-rate says 24.. but thats not the frame-rate they rendered some of those animations at. You can clearly tell this by some scenes which are super smooth (rendered at 24 fps) and some that are somehow like you got a cheap GPU (rendered at 12 fps and scaled up (1 frame + duplicate) If they had budget problems.. then why do a CGI series at all. Appleseed wouldn't be less if it were not CGI |

Wow, WTF Deunan is kinda annoying lol -_-" I pegged her for 2x years old but she acts like a teenager :S Agree with the animation complaints, sometimes it runs REALLY choppily, although I thought the fight scene was all right. How the heck do you fly and land a plane without any engines?! The animation in this series is really getting under my skin. I mean, it isn't Asylum Session bad, but it could do way better. Choppy normal scenes but Fluid action sequences O_O WTF?! Other than that this episode wasn't that bad though I felt that the only character who stayed the same was Briareos. |
