| There was no competition for the TV feature award. Nothing else came remotely close. Ano Hana was really good... until the last episode where everyone crying felt so forced... Everyone mopping at the same time did not have the intended effect of making me sad... It was all too melodramatic at the end too... Now, the episode just before, the one with the rocket was well paced, timed and emotionally moving. |

Many people question why the award was given to Okada Mari. Fractale was a general disaster and HanaIro was originally developping into something special, but kind of went the generic slice of life route. |
