How awesome! <3 btw, you know how yoshiwara arc lasted for 7 episodes? Well, if they did make a movie for that, it'd probably be over 2 hours! XD But I don't think anyone cares! XD And I wouldn't either.

My guess would be about Takasugi and Kamui or something (like back in episode 14. :P). But who knows? We just need to wait.

Most people consider the first 30ish to be meh you watched up to 25 according to your list. That is most likely why you don't see why a lot of people like it, because you haven't watched the episodes that everyone actually love.

It's actually less impressive when you look at it in USD.

Only when you're comparing it to "normal" hollywood/blockbuster movies.

Considering that this is anime (reducing your target audience a lot) other than Ghibli's (which is supported by Disney in "western" parts of the world) which rarely is aired outside of Japan (reducing target audience again) and has a limited way of obtaining it on DVD outside of JP it did quite good.
Other thing is (didn't watch the movie so it's more of speculation), it's probably required to know a bit about Gintama's universe, as there isn't enough time for explaining everything.

As for news: I don't mind this cow being milked as long as it'll be good.

I wish they keep the trend of fake trailers turning into real movies because Gintama the origins movie with shiroyasha and young shinsengumi would be so amazing. And I'd hope they tell us in advance so I can save money to go to Japan and watch on the big screen *o*

I kinda hope it's an anime-only film. Gintama has constantly showed how great it's filler material can be and while Benizakura was good, I'd rather watch something new.

I hope for an original story, Yoshiwara arc or the past war between Samurai & Amanto. Doesn't really matter though, it would all be epic.

I hope it's the Shiroyasha one!! Because I really want to see some Joui 4.

It'll either be that or another re-made arc (if it is, I hope it's Yoshiwara). Unless they actually do something with the Shinsengumi, but I douibt it, since they seem to like being able to troll us with it.

third season starts in october of this year. that'll be new eps mixed with high-noted eps of 1st and 2nd season. The sooner the better!

Btw. I think that movie... it'll be shiroyasha koutan arc. I heard about shinsengumi - maybe in third movie. (of course, if gintama won't end before that)
