ookay this episode made my eyes sweat a bit... damn, people are going insane thanks to alchemy.... Imagine using your super adorable daughter and your pet dog in order to create a fucking chimera that can talk... ohh he also used his wife... I'm hoping for a School Days ending for that MOFO, Tucker.

NINA!!!!!!! I've just died a little inside... maybe marathoning this shit is impossible after all :(

so far it seems many alchemist loose control of their mind or something cause many go bad.

that was something is surely didn't expect that he would have used his own wife child and dog to create a talking chimera all thought i hoped that they would split the 2 apart maybe it is better it died cause it would fail probably to split them this way it at least got some rest still feel sad for them.

not only hate tucker but also this damn general or lieutenant or what ever he his the one who knew all of it and didn't try to stop him only put more pressure on him.

I can't believe that someone could do that to their wife and child, it's so sad!

That girl was so nice, she didn't deserve that at all!

This episode made me cry, because of the girl being combined into the dog to make an unnatural creature, and the fact that it hurt it to exist, makes it worse.

I thought the dude will save them, but he freaking......damn.
I remember watching this episode back then, when it was aired on our local TV station, but I didn't feel a thing back then, but now ;_; RIP to Nina, Alexander, and the wife~

Yea, when i saw her/it i just felt anger and sadness at the same time. :(
I hoped that Edward will save her, or atleast go beserk mode and kill them all.
There is still hope, lots of episodes left to go. Im expecting some juicy revenge on that general and that fu*ker.

I don't really know if I loved this episode because the story of nina and alexander was just so heart-wrenching. Me voting for this episode with " I loved it! " would make me a cold-hearted monster.

Oh my god. I've seen FMA at least 6 times now, saw this coming a hundred times over, but still near cried. That's the most emotional I've gotten over this scene. Not even Brotherhood's version was this powerful.

Liked it and the new guy but couldn't really believe he'd just do that to his daughter. And not even for any particular reason, just because he could. Wasn't he already moping about losing his wife? Why go through that again?

Oh my gosh Nina...And Alexander...T^T
That was a really surprising episode...
And they're just going to cover it up? =[
I can't believe that guy just killed them like that...But what Tucker did was worse.
And at the end of the ending theme, Ed's smile was different! And it was sad when they showed Nina and Alexander at the end. T^T
Gosh this episode...It's like one of those episodes that just makes it feel like the blood is draining from my face

Almost surprise plot has a flap that I did not expect, sad narrative, which seems to testify again as that deify the figure seems to hinder the alchemist while giving a message even deeper. Realistic and unadorned narration even in the first part, the great director's cut so far shown in the anime. Drawings lifts as uninviting, excellent as always the OST.

In the FMAB the chimera dead body wasn´t so disturbing.

Yeah I agree, this whole arc was more disturbing in OG. Fucking heartbreaking.

When the "Chimera" said big brother ... that part got to me a bit, I knew what he had done.

And then the body on the wall ... ugh.

That was amazing.

If there's something the 2003 version is better at, is this mini-arc, because Brotherhood's version is a 7 or an 8, but this one is a round 10. I loved it (strangely enough because it was very disturbing, way more that B's ver).

I wonder why she didn't draw Al. I knew that when I saw the burned drawing of the 4 what he was going to do to Nina. That's when I realized he was going to sacrifice her for the talking chimera. He killed his dog too, that monster. I wonder if he had anything to do with the murders of the women.

This episode was very dark, way darker than the Brotherhood version. We have seen alchemy put to no use during the Claws situation, but this went too overboard.

Oh yeah, I forgot for a sec that Scar doesn't kill Shou in this series (boo). Damn, one of the saddest moments in FMA is Nina and Alexander. Since I'm currently re-watching Brotherhood and re-reading the manga, I had to experience it three times now? Bummer :'-(

Why did it have to be his wife and daughter, though? Couldn't he just transmute some unrelated random people, or even better - possible volunteers?

SomaHeir said:
first he transformed his wife, then Nina and Alexander??

and how the hell did the alchemist committee did not notice this in the past 2 years???
Because just as you said:
SomaHeir said:
that fucking general tried to cover this up!!!!
It probably was the case last time, too

SomaHeir said:
although the guy at the end had to kill Nina due to the misuse of alchemy of God. im more pissed at that fucking asshole Tucker.

Did he really have to do this, though?
Was there any particular reason why the Chimera had to be re-transmuted, or decomposed?

I had assumed Trucker and serial killer were the same person - that maybe he needed their lives or some organs in order to create his Chimera, but apparently I was wrong

Very sad ending to this arc and a very powerful example to what kind of atrocities alchemy and power can lead when in the wrong hands. I'm sure we get more examples of this as the series progresses.

Having watched both adaptations and read the manga chapter, I found this version too drawn out though. I appreciate that they wanted to make us emotionally attached to Nina and Alexander but two episodes was a bit overkill. Brotherhood did a better job IMO creating a similar engagement and shock at the end scene without adding all the filler scenes.

Overall, still a very good episode.
