THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Discussion for the short called "Working Through Pain" I think this was the best one storywise by a large margin, a little bit of development on how Batman became what he was today, seeking out some guru's to deal with pain. "Pain doesn't work for you, you work through pain." Nothing to deep or to dwell on, but nice enough to flesh out a little more backstory of Bruce. |

Easily the best, written by the author of the brilliant graphic novel 100 Bullets. Just a great moment of duality, the contrast of the two halves of Bruce's life. "I'm starting to think mal is run by Xinil generating electricity on a bicycle." - idklol |

Umm, I don't get the end. What's the significance of the guns? |

Just a literal allusion to Bruce's fight against injustice requiring him do it alone without any help, as shown by the fact that he cant even reach for Alfred because his hands are stuffed with guns and he's not willing to drop them. EDIT: Also to the fact of him being 'weighed' down by his burden. I thought the last scene was a bit too on the nose, but still nice. The guns have a bit more significance. The start of the scene he is shocked to see so many guns dumped into the garbage there. He begins to feel as though nothing he can do can change the city as he desperately tries to find all the guns. As Cihan said, he feels overwhelmed since he is only one person. This scene is actually a setup for the final revelation that Bruce has in the series. His constant and impossible battle in trying to stop the two bullets that killed his parents. He has an excellent comment in response to a question proposed to him by a bum. "What does the city look like from above?" "It looks dirty." The guns are the garbage that he is trying to clean up that makes the city so dirty. The guns are also a figuration of hidden crime that is beyond his eyes. This one had the best storyline out of all 6. The animation and voice actor were pretty nice too. This is my second favorite short. |

This one was very well done and it redeemed the character designs from ep 1. While I think I enjoyed episodes 2 and 4 more than this one, I'd say this one is now the best I've seen content-wise. It's also nice to see the dialogue improving over episodes. |

Yeah, this one was probably the best content and story wise. It was nice seeing background info on Bruce and all, and entertaining at the same time. |

This one was simply superb. Unless the 6th one is better, this one is without doubt my favorite of them all. |

I agree with everything that has been said so I don't have much to add especially what Cihan and renegade said about the significance of the guns at the end which is continued a little in the next short. This is my favorite and Studio 4C shows they can make a quality episode. I was looking forward to this episode the most since Brian Azzarello is a top comic writer with 100 Bullets and has written Batman before. |

Great development, loved the design of Batman and the animation here. Fight scene was excellent. Accents were a little iffy and her name was Cassandra...? Otherwise, loved the symbolism, the story and the meanings, even the scene at the end (though that came off sounding a wee bit trite, I thought it was a better effort than I've seen in most). It was great to see Batman vulnerable instead of deflecting bullets and the discussion of pain was interesting. I liked that they allowed the hero to fail at something; he fails to learn the lesson about pain and letting go, etc. The image we have of Batman as a troubled, heroic figure really came across here. They encapsulated him in a few minutes. Great studio, great short. I'd love to see this one made into a series. Modified by new_user, 07-17-08, 1:29 AM |

Hi, big fan of batman. When someone asked me that who is my favorite super hero I always choose batman because he may be not have any super power but due to his brain power and bravery, he manages to defeated villains living in his Gotham city. http://www.ranker.com/list/all-batman-villains-list-of-all-batman-enemies/all-enemies-and-supervillains |
