I first started watching this anime by accident. I watched the first 7 minutes of the first episode and realized that I was actually captivated and very intrigued in watching this. The concept was incredible and I loved the suspense and anticipation of what was going to happen next. Great beginning to an anime :)
wow. that was technically one of the best anime episodes I've ever seen 8D It's like watching a Zhang Yimou film... but noir...
just... kyaaa~~ I'm captivated xD having read the manga first I never thought that the anime would do this well with the adaptation, but if it continues in this vein it will thoroughly deserve its popularity in my eyes
even though plot-wise I dislike the second half T^T it just isn't as clever
That was a pretty good first episode. Not boring or confusing, at all. I really think Light took to that Death Note a little too quickly though. But hell after realizing your fate is already sealed, why not go full speed ahead.

He said all that i'd say.
All my friends said that i had to see Death Note, i even had it on my computer for like 3 months, but i was saying to myself not to believe them and don't get high expectations.
But now, if it continues like that, then i sure will put it as 1st favorite!!!
Mmmm the animation was wierd to me... Too dark to be likable... but it really needs thou... hahahah I liked the Shingami's World... it's even more lively than in the manga... Ryuk looks funny... but it's an amazingly stunning animated view... Light's ambition is frightening... And lol at Ryuk devouring the apples hahahaha... Nice anime
This isn't the type of anime I typically watch (no where near it actually) but I heard so many great things about it that I decided to give it a chance and step outside my magical girl and shoujo box. I'm glad that I did. I can't wait to watch the rest of the series.
I've startes series base on manga enough to thing that they didn't always follow on with the original, and I didn't enjoy them as much. But a friend of mine said that this one is really good, adn so I decided to give it a try. But they did an amazing job and I really liked this episdoe. I gues this really will be as good as the manga. I'll definetly keep watching it.
I caught the first episode of this on TV last night and I already can't wait for next week for the second. I don't usually watch much TV but now I actually have something to look forward too, one of the most fascinating anime I have watched in a while. I especially loved the design of the characters and the land where the Gods of Death live.
I know it's a tad late to be watching Death Note, but oh jesus. If I had known it was that captivating, I would have started it awhile ago.
I don't blame Light for killing those criminals, in that situation, I would have probably gone mad with power and done the same thing!
So it turns out that the smartest kid in the area posses a death note and kills people left and right and wanting to be the god of this new world order he wants to create.....interesting. Ryku goes along with L out of boredom. These two make a dangerous pair.
I can't wait to see what mischief these two crack heads will do again
That is a great start of a series which I bothered to watch since today, don't know why, but then I saw AMV Hell 5, and I felt like watching it now. Anyways, Light is a really sick basterd, I want to write him in the Death Note right now.
I just started watching as well. However, I must be the only one not intrigued by this first episode. It was well done, no challenge there, but the theme seems like something a teenager would claim is "so deep!" yet is actually a shallow beating of a dead horse. I am probably wrong, I've only seen the first episode so far. In fact, as I watch it, I would glad to be proven wrong. Guess I will see.
Just finished first ep. I must say.... definitely better than I thought. All though I just can't help but feel the HUGEST feeling of Deja vu. I think it's because a long time ago I read a book that had almost the exact same plot. Even the part where Ryuk came to Light's house was similar to the book. o_0
What can I say about Light... it's only natural to think that he'll go that way. But he's going even further than just killing criminals - he wants to become god of the New World he'll create. Yeah, I don't like the idea about this...

This OP surprised me at first and I thought the same, but then again, when you get into the atmosphere during the next episodes you'll feel like it had to be exactly this OP...
This is a great adaptation of the manga. I am often weary of watching anime after I've read the manga. This really gave it a new and interesting spin on the manga. My fiancee even liked it and she's not a huge anime fan.
