Sadly there is no Season two or any hope that there will be another Season. The best thing you can do to finish the anime is to read the manga. Here is a link to read it for free online. If you want to own the manga go to your local book store and ask them to order it for you if they don't have it. Same goes for the anime show, that is if your local book store carries anime shoes on DVD like mine does.

There can never be a season 2 because she is dead. What are they going to do focus on Nana? Even a 1 OVA special on life after Lucy's death may seem a bit hollow.

I don't think Lucy's dead: 1). We only saw a horn off Lucy's head get blown off. We didn't actually see her death. 2). Kohta sees a femaile silhouette on the front gate when he goes outside to see what Wonton is barking at. 3). The grandfather clock starts ticking . . . suggesting something broken or dead isn't, in fact, done.

I don't know how lucrative the anime series was in Japan or how popular it is in the rest of the world, but I defo think there's a lot of places to go with this story line. One of the things that kept me going was the constant tragedy, but, if there's a second season I don't think the same motivation can be used. It would be hard to have the same level of catharsis when you've already used an emotional atom bomb. There's not a lot to resolve in terms of psychological conflicts, it would be just utter destruction. But I think I'd like to see Lucy run amok across the planet.

Just because is a Masterpiece, it should remain that way, and not ruin it with a second season. Maybe a recapitulation with the manga ending, but not a sequel

Elfen Lied. I can honestly say, this is my first 'Anime' that I've ever actually sat and watched. I've never been too interested in the whole cartoon thing since I was 12 or so, but my friend went to College for this specific thing while I went to the Military.

[see the original string for the whole quote on 1st page of this thread]

I believe what did it for me was how tragic of a character Kaede becomes. I'm not the most emotional person in the world, I'll admit. But like alot of people I couldn't help but feel so bad for that animated cartoon girl (almost cried at the end but girl was sitting next to me on the couch, figured I'd lose man-points if I did). lol Kaede was doomed from the beginning (not meaning as a plot device).

[see the original string for the whole quote on 1st page of this thread]

....
The ending, as good as I personally thought it was, left me wanting more. They could at least showed her opening the door to see the clothes she's wearing (assuming that you think it's Kaede/Lucy or retard/Nyu). I think it's Kaede. Well, not really. That's me lying to myself. I'm pretty sure it's Nyu for several reasons. Everyone's heard the music box/clock theory. How Kaede's sad story is over and Nyu's is starting. Or something similar. But I feel it should be Kaede. I don't think it's fair in a sense that she lost out on a life due to something that pretty much corrupted her from the very begining, at an impressionable age AND at moments where her emotions were running high.

[see the original string for the whole quote on 1st page of this thread]

...
Not too sure about the love thing, but they sure did say the loved each other on those steps, but I can't picture anything more than being friends with the person who slaugtered my family. And that's stretching it. Now, she did have a somewhat 'good' reason to, as she's not exactly a normal person, with that creepy-ass DNA version of her always telling her to kill people. (The bandaged Kaede creeped me out; just like the Toshio kid in The Grudge) But anyways, I feel that it should be her that walks through the door toward the end when you see the shadow.

Now, I'm pretty sure it's not Kaede, even though it would make the story/ending so much better (in my opinion). So it saddens me to say it's Nyu. Mainly again, going back to the symbology of the ending of the music box (Kaede) and the starting of the clock (Nyu). And of course other factors, such as Nana not sensing Kaede/Lucy, the dog barking somewhat happily how her other horn broke off, (in the manga when they both were off she reverted to Nyu for 6 months) and...the fact that Nyu never walks through. She's a little slow in the head, so she's probably trying to figure out how to open the damn door. Maybe that's why her heads kinda' down? lol Retard. Anyways, sorry if this was long winded and I'm sure I'll get a call from China to get their wall back. ( I know someone will say it ). But this has been a great and fun first Anime, and probably not going to watch another. lol Just not my thing. This was short, my type of show, and really entertaining for me.

Thanks,

Wayne

I know this thread has long been answered but this is just my 2 cents...

Copedw25, Dude! You totally capture everything I could've said.
Now if only I knew someone that could write a second season for me.
It would suck if I had to write my own second season being that the producers seem to have dropped this project.
I would say that this was a good anime enough to carry on as a separate version from the manga. It's not a masterpiece in my belief, but nonetheless it was good enough to capture mine & many others longing needs for fantasy.
I don't care that it's different from the manga since this was the 1st version of this story for me. I'm not that curious that I want to go & read the manga to ruin it for myself considering what I already know regarding this story. I enjoyed this anime very much & would've loved a 2nd season good or bad, just so I can see who it was at the very end of episode 13 with an explanation. That's all.

Also, Texhnolyze was another great one.

Season 2 isn't going to happen, at best there's going to be a remake of the manga which I don't even think they're even considering doing.

Haha, as much as I love this anime, I am afraid they are not going to make a 2nd season. It was intentional for the creators to leave it at just that xP

Elfen Lied is tied with FMA Brotherhood for my favorite series, and is in my opinion, a masterpiece. However, I actually liked the ending of the anime series. I doubt there'll be a season two continuation of the anime, but I do hope and there is definitely a possibility that it'll get remade to follow the manga more closely like FMA Brotherhood was.

There's only one way to make more Elfen lied anime and that's to start over.Original anime was great (my score - 9/10) but it had different story from it's manga which was still not finished at the point of airing anime. There are a lot of differences in plot, characters or properties of the Diclonii.
E.g. Lucy has much fewer vectors in the anime and her destructive power is far more powerful in the manga, at the point she can destroy buildings and sink an island, and there is greater variation in hair and eye color. In the manga Diclonius' hair color can be as diverse as a human being's ....etc (source wiki)

If they want to continue it's probably better to follow manga instead of creating their own after story which is far from manga.

On the other hand
This anime is expected to show a lot of scenes of brutal violence at point of torturing naked under aged girl and cutting off pieces of conscious living beings and also some naked scenes outside combat. That's why i doubt that it would be attractive enough for nowadays businessmen who tend to support mainly shows available for and asked by widest possible audience.
While this is adult only and not all of them have guts to watch this kind of show.
It's shame really. Someone should make another Elfen lied anime finally.

I always thought that the music box turning off represented Lucy dying, and the clock turning on representing that Nyuu was alive. I can't remember exactly but I think she lost both of her horns. And when she lost her first one she only had 2 vectors left. So I assume when she lost the other horn she was basically a normal girl , because she wouldn't have any vectors or horns left. After thinking about that I thought the anime ending was good, but didn't need another season since I guess she would have just lived with them from then on. If they did make a new season they should just remake it and follow the manga all the way through.

I just finsihed watching this one and I must say..IT WAS GREAT!
Idk people always wanna talk down to Anime's which dont exactly follow the manga...Do you people think movies made always follow the manga/book or whatever!.. Things made on the page are not always so easy to transfer to the screen,I for one stand by "Anime's" over "Manga" anytime, manga cannot envelope you like sitting down and watching the film, hearing what they wanted the charecters to sound like or move like,to see they're tears fall in "real time" not page by page...
I for would love a second season of this, just like I'd like to see a "Rosario + Vampire capu 3,or a new season of "LineBarrel",maybe even more sakurei, but sadly...things things will most likely never happen:'[
If I were rich or smarter I might be able to get it and the others made lol!
Just keep praying, and if able...acting,calling,writing,requesting,anything to get us Anime fans more flix like this!!!

i recently completed elfen lied and seriously after watching the last episode, i searched the internet to find what happened after that. because they ended the story without telling everything. the manga has 107 chapters. i have not read the manga but i know it will be good. i wish they remake elfen lied entirely based on the manga and complete the story.
