THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Eating crab is such srs bsns.
I loved the variety of bgms used in this episode; they used all my favorites.

I must be a child or woman since I only like the legs.

Well I didn't see that coming.

They didn't have to throw it away though...

To break my tradition of 5/5's I have to give this a 3/5.
I don't care about them fighting over food. I found this episode for the most part rather dull. Oh well.

The start of this episode was a bit too similar to the Hot Pot episode from season 1 and not as funny as that one.
The Sengoku Era warring stuff was pretty funny though. Not as good as the past few episodes, but it wasn't bad.
4/5

Only in Gintama could eating a crab be so epic and hilarious xD

Perhaps not quite on par with the Nabe Shogun though.

Oh wow, an Ikkyu-san reference? Even though Gintama has been known to have shout-outs of a whole bunch of obscure stuffs, it is still kind of a pleasant surprise to see such an old series being mentioned. Good times, I used to really enjoy that series

I only liked the part Gintoki explained why crabs have so many legs, and they can't walk forwards and backwards. The rest was ok.

the episode was great as usual.

- Gintoki talking to the staff was hilarious.
- Shinpachi naive as usual.
- Daigoro, Viper, Crabqueror lol
- Doraemon
- Kagura's Crab congee laputa and the crab egg!
- The ending WTF
- The Legendary gorilla!

The three can be so ridiculously serious about food sometimes and damn, their imagination is just so detailed~ lol.

And I never thought of crabs not being able to move forward or backwards XD

Gintoki's thoughts after Shinpachi's "strategy" is revealed:
"The body of the crab is like the Crab-Paste princess of the castle! He already knows the secret of the Crab-Paste princess at such an early age? Indeed, princess Crab-Paste is the ugliest woman of the Sengoku period, yet you know that her repulsive face hides the finest lay in the country!"
*insert super dramatic revelation music in the background*

Fantastic episode. Not on par with Nabe Shogun but pretty close. xD

I love that thinking about the crab turned into a huge war about the crab. This was an interesting episode. Made me laugh a lot.

Nice ep, 4/5 for me. Hot pot fight was definitely better, but this made me laugh a lot anyway.

But seriously, why would they be fighting over crab! Well, it is big anyways.

Not sure about crab but in lobster the green stuff is what the lobster ate. I find it's an acquired taste.

It also kinda depends on culture. In Asian cuisine, that is actually sought after.

The Legendary Gorilla had me grinning, but the parts after that were kinda dragged out. It's like a rehash of Nabe Shogun, but not as funny, because at a point Gin-san and Kagura were being very blatant about it..

Was half-expecting the real Gorilla-san to show up though.. =D

I say part of what made the Nabe episode better was Katsura and Elizabeth randomly showing up (along with Otose and Catherine).

Not as good as the hot pot one tbh but still entertaining.

Katsura better have more than 2 minutes of screen time in the next episode! He's been on stand by almost all series now :(

hmm...can we stop with these fillers. And the food wars are getting old.
I still like how Kagura wins at the end though.

Anyways can we go back to the story where kamui and the other guy joined and are headed to earth?!

Anyways...I hope that is soon.

This episode is not that bad. Most of the people that say it is are people that haven't watch Laputa. But yeah, that Laputa scene got me lol
