| This anime just keeps getting better! The brothers are contrasting finely. I sort of feel bad for himari, would like to see more ringo though as it seems she has a bit of a complex going on as well as the brothers. |

| Finally picked this back up after a month-long hiatus from anime. Was a little confused that the brothers were suddenly skeptical of Himari's penguin hat, but that's hardly the weirdest thing to have happened so far so whatever. Still digging this show immensely. Now that I have a little more time I'll probably eat it up like a fine curry. |
| It seems pretty obvious that the penguin drum is the diary. And it seems highly possible it's a diary that predicts the future maybe? It seems like the entry for the that day was already entered and future days were already written ahead of it. Even the bit about a mean cat popping up. |

| The "Survival Strategy" theme song is starting to get annoying as fuck. The real OP on the other hand is amazingly clean looking and I dont get tired of it. lmao @ Ringo's face when she meets Tabuki's girlfriend lol how does Ringo have the exact same cooking pot as Tabuki? ohhhh |

| I guess fate brought Ringo together with the Takakura family. Things didn't work out exactly as Ringo had hoped, but maybe they worked out in a way that they needed to. Interesting episode. 4/5 |

| Ringo added apples to her curry. It's kind of funny cuz Ringo means apples. The siblings' house is small. Not sure if they hadn't properly shown it in the previous episodes, or if I hadn't noticed it. I feel bad for these kids. Though, I do wonder how they're getting any money at all. The little brother and his penguin are the cutest things in this anime. As an older brother myself, I can definitely imagine myself pushing my brother's face with my foot. |

| Another awesome episode, I like the two-sided personality of Ringo. I'm still trying to figure out the meaning behind the choice of subway stations. They're all located on the Marunouchi line, where the sarin attack occured. At first I thought that there's a direct connection between the station number and the episode number (i.e. Ogikubo - ep.1, Minami-asagaya - ep.2, etc), but it doesn't seem to be the case. Some stations are skipped, and the setting swithes to stations 10 and 11 (Shinjuku-gyoemmae and Yotsuya-sanchome). Maybe we're not meant to progress linearly through the stations, after all. But the sarin attack subtext is still present. Also, sensei seems to be an ornithologist, that's why Ringo was making a photo of a rare swallow nest for him. The Ringo family recipe for curry includes an apple as a special ingredient, if I understood correctly. Pretty fitting. We can also see how ocean is associated with Ringo and her dreaming. In the beginning of the episode everything in the room seems to be underwater, and Ringo is dreaming about her happy family life. In the curry cooking scene, she puts a seashell apron on and immediately starts dreaming of her perfect curry and a dinner with sensei. What we have so far regarding the subway stations: Ogikubo - Takakura house, Tabuki's house Higashi-koenji - Ringo's house Shinjuku-gyoemmae - school Ikebukuro - oceanarium, underwear shop, swallow's nest, possibly Himari's hospital |

| It seems to be an episode around curry, but I think it's actually an episode around "eating". Survival strategy means literally what people do to live. People need to eat first, but eating is not enough, they also need to give meaning to their actions. However, simply seeking the meaning behind their actions will make the meaning disappear. Ringo felt dissatisfied with her mother for not accompanying her to eat curry, but in fact, it was the interaction between her and her mother in this matter that really reflected the love of family. The wonderful connection between eating and illusion also appeared in the illusion set by the Queen. It must be said that the problem Ringo is facing now isn't a big deal. Besides, Ringo actually could have just told them at the teacher's house that she brought curry and wanted to eat it together, and I don't think the teacher would have refused. This might have been because Ringo was too obsessed with the so-called destiny of action and ignored the reality, and the same thing happened to the Takakura brothers, who could have directly asked Ringo about Penguin Drum instead of following her. With Ringo's character, maybe she would have helped them find Penguin Drum. |

| I love Himari's character. She's not forced as the cute little sister, but she's mature, realistic, and just so purehearted. Everytime I'm reminded that she's already dead by the Princess, I can't help but feel sad. |
| I'd be more annoyed with Himari's transformation if the song weren't such a bop. It's still hilarious that they seem adamant about playing it every single time she decides they need a survival strategy discussion. Half-expected part of the "fate" written in Ringo's notebook to include the brothers tailing her for the penguindrum, which she welcomes because even that is "destiny". |
