Why am I crying over a teacup? ;__;

Soooooo glad the anime is back...much as I love the manga, there is something really sweet and special about this adaption. There isn't another show out there that I have as much affection for.

Also, it looks like next week will be an anime original episode...? Um...already?

I really enjoyed this episode. Natsume really is a peaceful and heart warming anime. It makes me smile and just forget about all the crap that goes on in real life. It really is awesome and looking forward to the rest.
I am a sucker for romance!!!!

Ok, I guess I'm the only one that never saw the first seasons. I don't know if I should put this on hold and catch up on the first seasons or just watch it.

Isn't it astonishing how they make you care for the little teacup fellow? I'm so glad this gentle anime is back. Hopefully they show much more of Reiko and also develop the relationships with his friends.

First episode was a good introduction for newcomers. I was expecting a bit more polish and some technical improvement over the prequels though.

I guess you can watch them along the way. The premise isn't that complex so you should already have a clue how things work. Season 1 is mostly introduction and becomes repetitive after a while (monster of the day). In season 2 things start to get interesting.

Season 1 is more like an introductory and episodic season. While Season 2 showed how Natsume started to understand his grandmother Reiko and how he gradually understood someone being needed - as a part of the Fujiwara family. A lot of character development there in Zoku as well as the introduction of Taki.

It's never too late to start on Zoku, you can watch the first couple of episodes of season 1 and skip to season 2. 15 (2+13) episodes will be a great thing for you before the next episode airs since there are so many things that will go unnoticed.

Some people say that episodic anime such as ARIA, Gintama or Natsume can be seen without watching every episode "since" they are episodic. But for me, it was important to watch ARIA the Animation before watching Natural and then Origination. And I feel that go the same for Gintama as well as Natsume. Three of my all time favourite shows.

Also, this season might not have Natori and co. at all. They are not shown during the OP.

I think we will see them. Matoba is announced, and Natori appears in this arc in manga too.

I don't read the manga. So I am taking your words for it. Arigatou~

I'm confused why someone would not want to watch every episode of this over and over again.

I guess that's just me though.

Oh god how I've missed this show

It's so calming and serene with the beautiful bgms that play throughout the show. It shocked me when the demon bit him, poor teacup

Also Natsume is still hot when he gives a name back

There´s a difference between being able to watch something and to enjoy something to the fullest.
Just watch all seasons, you won´t regret it afterwards.
It´s not like Gintama that you´re 200 eps behind and required to watch them otherwise it wouldn´t be funny.

Ahhh! I dismissed it when his arm began working fine again (that unnatural jerk of his body when the ayakashi bit him was quite horrifying) and it turned out that it was Teacup-san! ;~; RIP!

Suddenly, I remembered why I liked Natsume Yuujinchou so much. Haha.

Again, very pleasant - looked forward to a new series for a while and this didn't dissapoint.

Starting off with another insigth int Reiko's antics was a right move, as I'm sure we're all interested in her just as much as her grandson is.

Human looking spirits could prove a dangerous trap. :o

The tea-cup was sweet.

10/10.

Ah, so nice to see more of Natsume again, and some more of Nyanko-sensei's antics. This episode wasn't the best, but it was still pretty nice.

More of my thoughts on the episode are here on my blog.

I do wonder if there was some kind of connection to be made between the tea cup's story and the obaachan's story. =/

It felt like forever for this but it is so worth it. With usual calm and relaxing aura. Very nice first episode.

Only bad thing is the opening song. It doesn't fit with the rest of the music. Loved the ending though.
