Wtf really people, why would it be an illusion? Are you retarded? He was in a war...people struggle during war, then realized he HAD to make it back alive, and did so. Vic kept on her way to the address he wrote on the letters. Thus, they finally met again /happy end.

Great anime, good ending, rushed but acceptable.

they reunited. Im glad. :D the prediction was they will be apart but their hearts will not. So i thought the ending was they'll just be in each other's heart..
waaaa~ Yukatta! :D
DEMO NE. I was waiting for those words! (remember Kujo wrote in the letter that he will say something to victorique, he said, he must say that personally) but there isn't something like that *sigh. but well, the fact that they are together means that too. so, everything's fine. :D

Like the series~ Like the ending. :D

What a great show. The mysteries were weak, but the characters were great. These last two episodes were so rushed, but I like what they were going for.

smh @ Kujo not saying he loved Victorique though. He even said in his letter that there was something he needed to tell her (derp I wonder what that could be), but nope. You little motherfucker. I'll just take that wedding dress as a way of the creators telling us they got married.

I just have a fondness for these endings where two lovers are reunited. My favourite show from this year also pulled this and made me feel all fuzzy inside.

9/10. Nowhere near perfect, but the interactions between Kujo/Victorique and the last half of the series was pretty awesome so I just can't give it anything below that.

The beginning of this anime was okay. The last few episodes (beginnig with the one where she explains the Queen's murder) were awesome!
Damn. I was kinda hoping that Grevil would somehow end up with that woman. Even though she's married and all, but still..
Anyway, I liked how we found out what happened with everyone. Though the last part with them in a random field was kinda confusing, but okay.

THEY SHOULDN"T DO THAT TO ME MAN !! make me think Kujo lost his legs is a big FAT NO!!! (made me cry).
The ending was beutiful and well done (I cried becuase it was a happy ending)
Tears of joy T^T 0_0

overall 10/10
Never be separated again.
So the real Brian's brother died and Brian so sad that Cordelia died too.
Atleast Kujo and victorique found each other finnaly an anime with no open ending.
I only hope for them the best!!!Love Victorique in Silver hair ,Kujo Cute as ever!!

Well that was an awesome show, I thought the first episode was quite lacking but i though that from then on the show was fantastic. I loved Victorique and Kujo's bond and the last episodes really showed how much they mean to one another.
9/10 from me, and I think I may rewatch this some time down the line.

Amazing ending; solid mystery and all around likeable characters, I felt that Kujo and Victorique complemented each other well which made the ending all that much sweeter; the last few seconds in particular were touching when they showed each other that they were never really alone because they still had the pendant and Cordelia's ring respectively and thus the whole line "no matter how the world changes, we will never separated again" was a nice touching way to finish it and solidified the ending for me.

Victorique moved to a country where people, on average, were much shorter, and yet she still looked like she shrunk at the end... Also, boooo, silver hair.

The mysteries may have been a bit weak, but my favorites parts of this series were still the loli Professor Layton adventures... The political stuff I could take or leave. At least there was a seemingly happy ending?

And at least Grevil is finally free to make the ladies swoon again with his bishounen charms.

To be honest I thought she would cut her hair rather than dye it. After all, her striking characteristic isn't the color, but the ridiculous length which sets her apart from every other blond + green eyed girl. The show had dispelled so many fantastical occult stories, but couldn't keep this last bit realistic. I almost flat out lol'd when her coif could cover up so much ridiculous hair, and that they didn't expect anything between a silver color (which is even stranger) than a blond color.

That was my only gripe toward the end. Otherwise, a fantastic mystery-romance drama.

And about Brian,
The homage to Sherlock's pipe was great too, not sure if it was intentional. The train episode reminded me of Baccano.

I enjoyed the series much more than i thought I would but I'm quite surprised how many of you seem to have looked only at the surface of the anime and not nearly how truly dark the entire story is (this is seriously one of the darkest animes there is)... besides that I was pretty disappointed by the ending. It was rushed and a huge plot hole, until that point I was enjoying the show quite a bit. Him going off to war made no actual sense and the end was just forcibly flashy. I felt it really insulted how deep the story was.

So much else could have happened that was shortcutted to be over dramatic. A soldier returning form 5 years of war, a soon-to-be bride awaiting his return in his homeland. Its so irritating but alas I still give the story 9/10. Even though the ending was severely lacking, it could have been something truly wonderful.

i'm glad they reunited at the end ^^ What I really was hoping!!
VIctorique didn't grow any taller even after 4 years xD
cordelia dead. Brian dead too. I really thought Kujo lost his legs in the war.
Loving ED song, fits the aftermath of the war very well.

So, one anime finally COMPLETED!!

This series is a masterpiece not because of the mysteries, they were below average, but because of the characters, setting, atmosphere and development of the characters.

Well that ending was really well done. I enjoyed it a lot. I was kind of confused at when Kujo had no legs but as someone stated earlier they were probably just war nightmares.

Episode 5/5, overall 8/10.

I'm going to be completely honest...

I loved this series but I was extremely disappointed by the ending. The reuniting of Kujo and Victorique was just so weak in my opinion. For two characters that cared about each other so much and were separated for so long, it felt like they had no emotional investment in each other by the time the were reunited.

The sad part was, after episode 22, I was about ready to call this one of my favorite animes of all-time. After completing the final episode, I just shook my head and screamed "WHY?!" This anime had the chance to do something great and its conclusion fell flat.

A string was tugging at my gut the whole episode. They made me wait until the very end to see Kujou and Victorique. Real touching. I was thinking Kujou was dead half the episode. >_>

Gave me a great ride, 10/10 just because it's my opinion and I loved the last arc of the story.

i got mixed feeling on this. The first half is bland and boring but then it become interesting at the leviathan arc , the first half importance finally make sense with many things has been foreshadowed nicely.

Then came the last two episode which is paced ridiculously , brian got twin suddenly ,brian, blois and cordelia died anti-climaticly , kujo suddenly become a soldier ( i don't even know which country he present), and the final scene felt weak because of the pace.

first half : 7/10
second half : 9/10
last two episodes : 6/10

overall : 7/10

I am so glad I eventually watched this anime! I've never been a fan of Mystery anime, so the mediocre mysteries in the first half didn't bother me while the second half of the anime blew my mind.

I give this series a 9.5/10, but since there's no decimals in ranks, I'll just round it up.

Her hair made me go "Whaa-aaa-?" ('~') I didn't realize it changed color until the man said so, because of the lighting in the night. Both versions are very beautiful, but golden makes her seem more alive and mature (she looks less of a kid, but with silver she looked old but veer childish). Silver makes her less vivid and ferocious. I guess it's to signify the kindness and grace and experiance that she has now?

Also, Kujo's growth spurt starkly contrasted to her shortness. The fat Japanese clothing did not help in this matter. Gah, I wish Victoria would grow a little taller so she doesn't look like his child or something (>3>)

Cordelia's death seemed expected, so it doesn't bug me too much. I loved how she swapped places - it surprised me. I completely thought Victoria was taking a stand against her father. Hate Albert, but I love Cordelia. She is an amazing character.

The 'Brian' seemed to go a little crazy, which I disliked. They are cooler when they are level-headed. I feel like the authors needed to make two of them to have them be with both the daughter and mother at the same time.

I think the fortune-telling was correct, though. "Their hearts shall never be separated" could also refer to Kujo being Victoria's heart, thus Kujo in person must eventually find her. The huge time skips irked me, though.

Love, love, love this anime. It's definetly one of my favorites. So much suspense from the first to last episode kept me hooked, and I finished in two days. Ended on a romantic note, but it was still more beautiful because of that. Sigh, now to search for another worthy anime. Cross our fingers in hopes it's as good as this one!

Victorique hair turned grey from the stress of the though of never seeing kujo again, and the ending where they give us the idea that they married and lived happy ever after was awesome! i must say this is one of the best animes i have ever seen!!!!!!!

To be honest the whole ending....or the whole last arc seemed rushed. The entire series was based around mysteries and detective work. Yet the last arc didn't really have anything to do with it. Well, happy ending nonetheless.
