THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Non-end. Second season announced. "The Tower of Druaga - The Sword of Uruk" is its name. It will air in 2009. I must say, this episode gave me back my hopes about this series. Indeed, the setting, characters, plot threads and etc. were way too big for a 12-episodes series, and the creators are going to continue their anime with a second season. I'm really looking forward to the sequel. Modified by Windspirit, 06-20-08, 3:50 PM They are neither plants nor animals. They differ from other forms of life such as the micro-organisms and the fungi. Instead they resemble the primeval body of life and are generally known as Mushi. Their existence and appearance are unknown to many and only a limited number of humans are aware of them. |

Sort of smart move with open ending, considering poor plot development and such. Ovarall, I gave this series 6/10. Good animation and music on one hand but... bad plot and character development and fluctuating production values. Hopefully, 2nd season will have these issues resolved. This was one of the best (best non-comedy) episode of the season, which really depresses me that I have to wait at least a year to see it completed. This means we will have another 1 or 2 episodes devoted towards re-introducing all the characters, etc. which could bog down the next season as well. Currently the show is wavering between a 7 and an 8 for me, quite unsure as to which one I will pick. |

Whoa, a predictable ending (Kaaya betrayed everyone, and same goes for Neeba with Fatina and Utu) but I still loved it. And Jil also wanted to bring back to life Ahmey with the Rod, I guess. Looking foward SS. |

Wow that episode was intense! I was wondering how they would wrap it all up with just one more episode but wasn't expecting another season... YAY!!! :D |

Well...that was pretty cool. Neeba and Kaaya had the same motive which was pretty much obvious...since...they were always very sneaky. Now...Will Jil go up yet again? Hmm... Overall I gave the series a 7/10. |

It was decent, but not all that great. Story shifted focus a bit too much between episodes, jumped around a bit, and didn't give enough elaboration on the story. Just not enough insight on character development. However with a lot of the characters killed off, I'm hoping that it may supplement these short comings in the second season. Worth the watch, anyways. Also, it was a good 'ending', but the overall series structure just fell apart, as aforementioned. edit Oh yeah, and I scored it a 5/10 :p Modified by asandari, 06-20-08, 7:09 PM |

For some reason, I now want Fatina x Jil. D: I gave it a 8/10. 'Cause it's so my style. ;P |

Well, at least with the way things were going, GONZO made a smart move to extend this to a second season. And now we can't call Druaga gay-lookin', since that wasn't him at all. xD When I look at it from an enjoyment perspective, Tower of Druaga ended up a lot better than I expected, and I surprisingly enjoyed it a lot at times. It was also glaringly generic and annoying at times too. The comedic parts of the show were a lot better than the serious parts. From a critical standpoint, this show really doesn't deserve anything higher than a 6. Animation and sound was fine, but story structure, character development and the characters themselves was quite average, even bad at times. I'll be generous and give this a 7/10 for now. There is certainly room for improvement, and GONZO have a second chance with this anime when 2009 rolls around. Edit: I always preferred JilxFatina paring from the start. My hopes of that is increased with that last scene. ^_^ |

That was pretty nice ending. The king is badass in the end lol. Did he kill off all of his guards haha. I wonder if he was the 3rd betrayer. In any case it looks like an endless cycle of some kind. The king was probably in Jil's shoes in the past and the ghost that looks like Kaaya was probably his love interest. Can't wait to see the real conclusion in 2009. |

This show didn't impress me at all. It had two funny episodes, the rest was generic throwaway fantasy, with a complete lack of character development or a decent plot. The animation was pretty good, other than that it was below average in every way. 3/10 for me. Modified by Bunji, 06-22-08, 2:24 AM |

whoa that was unexpected O_O Neeba was such a badass. I like the fact that they swapped partner. I'm intrigued enough to wait for the new season. Something I didn't think I would say after watching the first half of the season O.o Sword of Uruk next year eh? Bring it on! |
