Seeing that we're on episode 10/12, there are 2 episodes until the season is finished. I doesn't seem like a fitting end there's so much they haven't shown from the characters! Q_Q

It all depends on the sales and popularity.

In terms of material, they have so much to use fromt he LN so there should be space for a second season.

Yeah don't go hating Hoshizora. It wouldv'e been better if it was like an Amagami SS kind of style.....

People throw a lot more hate on shows that they had some hope on. So obviously popular shows that end up under-performing gets a lot of bad mouthing. Personally, I found it average. A lot of unused potential and it was a decent way to waste time.

As Rayy stated earlier, Seeing how were about to end in vol.3 and there are about nine volumes we might get another season. But due to all the hate its getting we can only hope for the best.

Personally i dont think hate should go to any anime. Some series might just be better than you think.

We most likely will not get a second season, since Aria's pre-order ranks weren't anything special. And we all know JC only makes sequels to anime that sell well, with Bakuman being an exception.
But we'll get to know about the sales soon enough, since the BD/DVDs for the first volume were released 2 days ago, if I recall correctly. Sales data should be out in 5 days or less.

This series is ok but as for the second season for this, it depends on how well for the DVD/Blu-ray sales go.

DVD/Blu-ray is key 3,000 sales makes profit, 10,000 is a hit...

I actually like this, and it would be a shame if there was no second season cause I think the light novel gets more interesting after the prologue is over

Yes, but the break-even point is an average. And 10,000+ copies is considered a hit, but most anime that reach 6,000+ copies get a sequel, and are also considered successful.
I'm just hoping Aria bombs, it's an absolutely terrible anime.

i relise which shows are gonna blow me away and which ones will be just for fun before the shows premiere, if people really went into this show expecting somthing thats their own fault for not enjoying it, this show i could tell was gonna be action romantic comedy, how anyone else didnt get those vibes from the first episode is beyond me, its people sown faults to get disapointed going into this show like that,

now if you went in expecting what it actually is and was dissapointed than yah then they can talk

LULZ.....wasn't expecting that.

Anyways, I'm not so sure if this will get a sequel or not, like everyone has already said, it depends a lot on the DVD and BD sales.

Overall, since this is a J.C Staff anime, I think it has a good shot, but we'll see.

There are 2 reasons for the hate towards this show.

1. A lot of people consider it generic and boring. That's their opinion, and IMO it is a pretty generic JC Staff rom/act/com anime. Not saying that's a bad thing, but a lot of people want something different for a change.

2. Probably less, but there are a lot of people, myself included, who hate this show because they've strayed fairly far from the novels in many aspects. Sure, most of the major plot devices are there, but the interactions in the novel are much more detailed and thought out, here they feel rushed so the show can get to more gunfights. Mind you, this is something that JC Staff is also known for doing, so some people expected it.

As for a sequel, what everyone has beens aying is right, it will depend on sales of the BD/DVD. If it sells well, there will be, if not there won't be. Might also depend on what JC Staff intends to do with some of their other big series (Index, Shakugan, ZNT etc) since the majority of them feature the same leading female voice. So this may get pushed to the backburner in favour of some of JC Staff's other series.

Hidan v1 does 4007 BDs and 2349 DVDs for a total of 6,356 copies.Way more than everyone expected.
If it averages around 6,000 copies, it's likely for it to have a sequel.
Shit. ;_;

I think that's good news, it seems to be getting stronger and they obviously have more material to work with. I'll have to check on the LN since the text spoilers usually indicate that there is a bit more depth to the text than the anime.

I've read parts of the LN too and it's obviously waaaaaaaaaay better than the anime, and I'm sure the LN will get better later on but JC Staff will mess everything up, as usual.

So I think there's not much more to say. Fans who want a 2nd Season should buy the DVDs!

And another thing; I heard something like an extra episode will be coming out in the DVDs (to lazy to google it...), imma crossing my fingers that it is something that opens the plot to a second season, like what they did in H.O.T.D. with the "Drifters of the Dead" cave (the one they mentioned at the end of the ep).

...

or not

In a series of Twitter posts, Aria the Scarlet Ammo (Hidan no Aria) author Chūgaku Akamatsu reported that more Blu-ray Discs and DVDs need to be sold for a second season to be realized. To that end, he encouraged fans to buy more, or another season cannot be made. The first home volume for the anime went on sale last week, and it sold 4,007 Blu-ray Discs and 2,349 DVDs.

By contrast, Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko series director Yukihiro Miyamoto reported that his anime series only needs a little more support for a second season. The first home video volume sold 5,267 Blu-ray Discs and 1,361 DVDs during its first week of sales last week.

It won't get a second season. BD sales are too low to justify it.

If everyone hates this show, then how did this get a rating of 7.33?

Btw personally I liked it. 8/10

I would say yes to a 2nd season.

Because people who are hating on this show don't come and post on these forums?
Because people who buy BDs are usually Japanese and don't hang around on English sites like MAL?

The lack of common sense disturbes me sometimes...

Came in here to post just this. If you don't like the anime... then simply don't watch it. It doesn't gain anything if you post your useless opinions about it. Worst case scenario for you guys, another season comes out. Why are you trying to deprive fans who do appreciate it. Just continue to read the manga and enjoy it the way you have been.

It seems like some of you haters have a problem the way the studio is handling the story line, therefore it shouldn't matter what they release. Move on to something else.

I hope to see a second season. I loved the first season and if I could I'd rate it an 8.5 ... I can't so I rounded up.

I honestly don't see why a lot of people don't like Hidan no Aria. I own the novel versions of this, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them. But I guess it's impossible to convince those people to like this series, though it would be appreciated if people stopped talking crap about it.

JC Staff did a great job with the animations, and I'm also looking forward to a second season. It will be when the story gets even better. I'll buy the Blu-ray copies to support them so they can change their mind about not making a second season. It may not be much, but every sale should help.

wow....

where do i begin.

so much hypocrisy in these two comments. you two are basically whining over the fact that people hate what you like and call their opinions "useless" and they should go away. and then you say you both enjoyed hidan no aria which is your opinion.

btw avataren, funny that you brought up saying no one's saying anything constructive about aria, if that's the case, you haven't checked out the reviews for the show, i recommend you do ;)

speaking of which i'll explain why i hate this show: terrible plot, awful writing, characters that are both cliched and just unlikable, and bad execution. there i said my thoughts on this show, how does that make you two feel? upset i assume since i said bad things about a show you like, therefore i'm stupid and shouldn't voice my opinion.

look, there are people who aren't gonna like what you like, and if you can't handle that, then that's your problem.

have a nice day ;P

I thought Aria was entertaining, but that’s all. It’s a good way to waste 5 hours. However, if they gave us a little character development, dropped the supernatural themes, and filled the plot holes, they might be able to turn the series around.
