It was about time, but i'm worried about the lack of actual plot...the manga hasn't come very far sicne the end of s1.

And to think, they put that extended 'preview' at the end of the first season because the studio believed there'd be no chance of a second season. Well, blow me away and call me leaved. So watching.

Same here but it would take not less than a half of a year probably so thery would have enough material for 13 eps at least

About the lack of manga chapters... They'll make up stuff like last time then?

Of the first season or of this season?

I have been hoping for a season one BD box (though how well it could be upscaled remains to be seen). BDs for the second season are guaranteed though, there's no way this will be DVD-only.

And I'm not worried about lack of manga... the appeal of the show is hot yuri and utterly over-the-top supernatural mahjong. The plot behind that is only of nominal importance. Just throw a couple tournaments in and let us have fun with the characters, and call it good.

That said, I do want at least some overarching story, if only because anime-original arcs won't be able to move character relationships forward too far for fear of getting out of sync with manga developments. But there are so many fun minor characters who deserve more screen time, that even without a load of new manga chapters the anime really shouldn't be starved for potential material.

I don't mind putting off the core story for a little while if we keep getting to spend time with all the great characters in the meantime.

They will. In 2015. Then they'll do all the BDs in a week.

Lol, Doki has strange release periods. They'll keep a project stalled for ages and then release it completely in a matter of days.

Anyway, is Gonzo in charge of this again.

Never saw the first season. Guess it's a good reason to do so now.

I am shocked. I wanted to just come in and say how shit the first season was and how they dare to make more of the same garbage and I stumbled on all of those people who are fans of that garbage. Some people even mentioned Akagi in the same sentence as Saki. The wave of mediocre animes was bound to catch up to us and it did and now even mediocre series like this can get a good following.

P.S. It was honestly one of the stupidest shows I have ever seen with special mention going to the "invisible" girl.

Hate on angry little man, we'll be too busy watching Saki season two to care. =D

If us liking this show is somehow ruining anime for you, then hey, good riddance, you can leave at any time. No one will mind.

time to watch Season 1 then.
