Wow! she even lost her left arm? I didn't notice where exactly that got so much damage.
So sad seeing Roberta like that in the end. Who were those people anyway.
Her face looked so peaceful and young though.

She really kicked ass with that old weapon and the silver poles.

Lol Rock was playing the megalomaniac and got pawned by the bigger heads in the end.

Liked the clips about Revy's past. She looked awesome as a teenager too.

Was that guy raping her some stepfather or something? Or was it just a cop?
We need a full ac about Revy's past and what lead in her becoming what she is.

Time to pick up the manga from here. This must have been the easiest transition since i figured out how far the adaption was in a second. (up to 76).

I thought Roberta was badass, although Rock's utter failure apparently at the end there was disheartening. He seemed so into it and then in the last minute his plan gets shot down.

Why? Because of what that phone call at the end? Didn't he win? I mean he did save Roberta?

His plans weren't really about saving Roberta.

Its kind of a given that revy got treated like that before but it was so depressing to actually watch it ;_;

This OVA is great.

Strange ending... I'm a little bit disappointed, I expected more action.

...So I'm guessing I'm the only one who absolutely loved bastard Rock? That grin at the end of 4 and how he was at the beginning of the episode was amazing to me, I loved how he played each and every single character out there, and managed to bring out the best ending for everyone. Whether they realise it or not.

When I found out he loaded the gun with an empty bullet, oh man.

5/5 series, absolutely amazing.

Props to that one guy taking that monster head on only then to get stabbed in the chest though.

Rock couldn't have been more out of character through out this entire OVA. Glad someone jacked him up and set him back to normal.

They did not change the ending of her arc at all. The extra pages where she is shown in wheelchair weren't in the monthly chapters but added when the volume was released. Which is the reason they aren't in the scanlations.

Just to clarify, it is true that there were extra pages in the tankobon release of volume 9 of the manga that weren't in the magazine, but they didn't show Roberta in that pitiful state (at least she looked pretty unharmed to me).

Here is what I'm talking about:

Anyway, I pretty much liked the way the producers animated this arc, and although they had to remove some scenes, they weren't crucial to the story. The only thing I found disappointing was the fact that they literally butchered Roberta at the end. I understand that they wanted to make Roberta seem less indestructible than in the manga and show us that even she can take damage, but I think they went too far.

I think that Rock planed to use the army that was with him so when they talk whit their superiors .rock was thinking that they will close the opium plantation but the CIA did something and the plantation remained open.

10/10, good OVAs, but there wasn't so much action in the last episode, though. So, Rock was beaten like that because he was playing with people's lifes, huh?

If this show will continue, then without Roberta, in my opinion. Because Roberta was so butchered in the end..

I don't recall the scenes from Revy's past occuring in the manga, I'll have to go back and read the chapters again. Overall I have to say that Rock was too out of character for me to enjoy and Roberta never was a character I really liked. Took time away that could have been more properly focused on Revy anyway.

Rock was really out of character, but still a very enjoyable OVA. Rather weird ending.

Well, if manga author will decide to center more stories around Roberta in the future then the anime team is pretty screwed. They've just cornered themselves for more drama...

I was hoping for some action concerning the Black Lagoon Company, but I guess it wouldn't be so much about Roberta's Blood Trail.

Either way, it was an awesome end.
Revy's past is =[.

Too be honest, I really enjoyed the OAV ending, much more than the manga's for several reasons :

- It gave more credit to the Grey Fox ( and by extension to Balalaika's soldiers since they could keep up with them )
Even if Roberta was such an exceptional fighter, the Grey Fox were a special military unit, it didn't make much sense to have them defeated that easily in the manga by one single woman.

- I still think that they went too far in butchering Roberta but it was more « Black Lagoon-like », you know... plenty of action with a sudden depressing ending like with the twins and the yakuza girl.

- And more importantly the OVA ending set things straight between Rock and Revy.
I don't know what was possessing Rock all along but he spent the arc playing the bad boy, playing people, bullying kids and everything just worked out fine for him in the manga with him not even realizing how lucky he had been ( I mean who knows what Balalaika 'd have done to the Grey Fox if Caxton hadn't won her respect, for example ).

Revy was too much passive in front of Rock for my taste ( the scene with Rock laying in her own bed like some badass dandy while she was staring down in the shower was just horrible ). It suddenly was like Revy was Rock's underlying, her leg had been sliced open in the Japan's arc and now she got shot twice for the sake of Rock's plan ? WTH ?! It was the right thing to do to support Rock in front of Fabiola, since she was just an outsider, but Revy actually never brought Rock back to Earth in the manga. I completely enjoyed that in the OVA, Revy finally woke up from her daze to give Rock a lesson and somehow reminded him that she was his guide in Roanapura and not the other way around.
