| Anime director Yamamoto Yutaka posted on his twitter that he has made a request to the production committee of Fractale to terminate the serialization of its manga. The dispute was originated from the manga author Akasaki Mutsumi's blog entry, which expressed her dissatisfaction with the story of the manga and the anime. Akasaki said she couldn't understand what the producers of the anime wanted to tell and she has been at a loss what to do to make the story interesting. Akasaki immediately removed the entry but Yamamoto saw the screenshot and "felt sad about the current situation of the anime and manga industry. It's a decent show (and Hanazawa Kana's Nessa is utterly amazing), but many people (myself included) feel like it did not live up to the potential of the premise. Most of the derision has far more to do with the behavior of its director, the Yamamoto Yukata referenced here, than the show itself. Yamakan comes off as an extreme drama queen much of the time, and when you couple that with his persecution complex and "nobody understands me" attitude, you have a gaffe-prone director who makes the mistake of making himself the story much of the time. I think he's talented, and he's been involved in some shows I've loved, but he's really his own worst enemy. I just can not bring myself to like him as a person at all. For the record, for me, the worst full-length TV series that I was crazy enough to actually complete (not counting Endless Eight) is Nanatsuiro Drops by a country mile. I swear that show was written by your average 12-year old fanfic writer, or at least I would have if I didn't know it was adapted from a VN with (relatively few) sex scenes. Fractale is a masterpiece when compared to that. It's just that it's extremely average when compared to very best anime on my list. |

Nanatsuiro Drops was very average, it ended up a poor quality version of Nanoha, with quite a few uninteresting characters and the main is my most despised character, I want to slap Sumomo and leave her in the Mojave Desert for the wildlife to deal with her. |

| I guess that rules out a season 2 or OVA? :p Seriously tho, disappointing to hear, loved the anime, not really sure what every ones problem with it was, other than being a bit shorter than it should have probably been. |

| Wait, hang on. Is the anime covering he same story as the manga, or is the manga gonna go continue farther than it? Does it have more story behind it? The only reason I can see him trying to cancel the manga is if the manga had the same exact story within it with no further continuation on development, in which case the anime would ruin the manga anyway. I hope this isn't the case, cause I would like to read the manga as well and draw my own conclusions about it. To have it canceled mid-story for some arbitrary reason isn't going to go over well. |
