I've often been looking for a way to disable it too, but haven't had any ideas so far.

Will it be on by default?
I rather like the splash. Maybe add an option to change it?

Same here. Having it turn on with windows was convenient, but I can't have this on a laptop.

Thank you! This also helps to reduce (though not fix) the issue of transparent white/grey bars in the top left.

What do people have against the splash screen?

I don't see any reason why somebody would want to disable it
Some parts of this post may be exaggerated.

I don't really understand what would make you say that...

All the splash screen does is display a static image for about three seconds
