Derp. Didn't realize we were posting what anime we were watching here - I was doing it in the general anime discussion thread since I thought this was going to be everything we're watching but anime. XD nvbft90 said: after hearing all the rave that went on about Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, I decided to start it the other day. One thing to clear up first, I've never been a girly anime kind of guy, let alone the whole mahou shoujo genre... but i saw this was done by Shaft so i thought there's GOT to be something cool about this series. just finished ep 8. can't decide if i'm liking this story or not. Once again, I have been mindfucked (excuse my language) by Shaft... its almost like they took this whole weird sparkly girly genre and removed the sparkly and most of the girly so that it's just plain weird now. not to say i'm not intrigued though... lol wondering if any of you guys have seen this series yet. Oh, me! Me! I love the magical girl genre, so I'm always trying to seek out twists to it. I really liked how Madoka Magica worked out. It is definitely not sparkly cutesy, which I think pulled me into it more. It is kind of weird, but I'd be lying if I didn't want to see more stuff like it. |

@Kitty I thought so too, but I'm just "going with the flow". I also plan on watching that Magica show based on your recommendation ![]() "If you were to turn into a snake tomorrow and begin devouring humans, and from the same mouth you started devouring humans, you cried out to me 'I love you,' would I still be able to say 'I love you' the same way I do today?" |

Madoka Magica is also on my "to watch" list, but I've got a long way to go before I get there lol. We're still watching NCIS, when my grandma gets home in a little while. After that, I think it's back to Stargate, or movies. |

Blue Exorcist / Ao no Exorcist - Episode 9. I'm waiting until 11 comes out and them I'm going to watch 10 and 11 together rather than one on its own. |

@Lotus: Great! Glad I could help spread the knowledge about it. I've been letting a handful of friends know about it when I get in touch with them - both the magical girl lovers and the casual watchers. :D Otherwise I'm currently watching FMA - seriously for the first time. GO ME. ♥ |

@Corsair: The first. Haven't seen Brotherhood yet. Was told that I should see the original first anyway, so I can appreciate Brotherhood more. :P |

@kitty A few years ago I was really bored and watched this american cartoon called winx club, you ever hear of it. I thought it would be cool if there was a more adult one ![]() "If you were to turn into a snake tomorrow and begin devouring humans, and from the same mouth you started devouring humans, you cried out to me 'I love you,' would I still be able to say 'I love you' the same way I do today?" |

for all of you who haven't seen either FMA yet, like Kitty said, watch the first, then brotherhood. it'll have a bigger effect that way. FMA has probably by far one of the best story lines imo, and brotherhood is more or less my favorite anime. nuff said! haha @Kitty Yea i just finished Madoka yesterday. gotta say the last 2 episodes were insane. it went above and beyond what i asked for when i first considered watching this series. once again, Shaft has smacked me in the face, shook me upside down, and threw me down the stairs. but i can't say it wasn't fun... haha. jokes aside though, i usually don't go for these mahou shoujo stuff. but this got me thinking so hard. i definitely see a lot of resemblance to bakemonogatari. a little nostalgic, might i add. but i love how the whole story was executed. probably the most non-cliche way of making an anime of the most cliche genre. loved it. |

Brotherhood is definitely my all-time favorite. All the twists and turns in the story, and then THAT ENDING!!!!! The only downside to watching both versions are the slight repeats at the beginning of Brotherhood, but it's not like they could skip it just because it was already done. Those first episodes were important points in the storyline, or they wouldn't have been in the manga. |

@Lotus: Yeah, I have heard of it. I used to watch part of it before I went to work in the morning when nothing else was on. It was cute, but I never really got into the plot or watched a lot of it to really know what was going on. But yeah, seeing something for a bit of an older target audience would be friggin' awesome. I think I was secretly hoping that when I was watching it, then again I watch too much anime. XD @nvb: YAY. I keep watching episode 9 over and over again for some reason - I think it's what turned me into a Kyoko fan, really. XD But I go through rewatching episodes that I love over and over that I'm like, "OH YEAH THERE WAS ALL THAT COOL STUFF IN THE BEGINNING THAT MADE THE SERIES ALL DARK TO BEGIN WITH" so I really want to rewatch it in full rather than a few select episodes here and there when I wanna see a certain part again. XD I want to say that was my first Shaft anime, but I could be wrong. I'm really not good at keeping up with studios, but I really want to start learning! I just know too much about the American licensing companies over here that I guess I get sidetracked. XD BUT YES I WANT MOAR - but there's the manga for that, too. :3 Wah, I need to see Bakemonogatari... @RJE: OMG "THAT ENDING"?! I'm pumped even more now. 8DDDD |

@Kitty, I swear I was laughing and crying at the same time. It was such a fantastic end. I've rewatched the last few episodes alone more times than the show itself. one of my favorite scenes from the manga/Brotherhood (not really spoiler-ish, don't worry) |

My favorite, favorite part about it is Ed's height. Go on, look again. Who's taller NOW? XD Well, that and what happened right before. I lol'ed so hard... Seriously after watching Brotherhood, as much as I liked the first series, I have a hard time going back to it lol. I also like the art style in Brotherhood better too. I'm glad I watched the '03 version first, because otherwise, as soon as I saw it, I'd be all "whaaaaat" and not watch it. So I'd wait, personally. |

I watched the first of the new episodes of Futurama. It's about as good as I remember it. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Not quite as good as the Simpsons, but still enjoyable. I'm going to start watching more ovas and movies to raise my # of completed. Love Hina OVAs and Castle in the Sky are at the top of my list. ![]() "If you were to turn into a snake tomorrow and begin devouring humans, and from the same mouth you started devouring humans, you cried out to me 'I love you,' would I still be able to say 'I love you' the same way I do today?" |

After being disappointed by Love Hina Again, I wasn't expecting much from Love Hina Christmas Special. However, I absolutely loved it. It's a must see for any Love Hina fans. Only a few funny parts, but very romantic. ![]() "If you were to turn into a snake tomorrow and begin devouring humans, and from the same mouth you started devouring humans, you cried out to me 'I love you,' would I still be able to say 'I love you' the same way I do today?" |
