What do the numbers next to the author mean?

Also yeah index FTW with Kamachi number 1. Also, for Oreimo.

Is the Moshidora novel really even that good to warrant that much sales? I also heard the anime adaptation was pretty crap so I'm assuming that the novel has some groundbreaking themes and elements and shit.

It was popular before the anime, though, so it's not a big surprise. And I'm sure there are many people who would happily "yuck" your favorite shows too. Let's not cast stones in glass houses and all that.

Nice to see the Moshidora novel at 1#.Also very glad to see the Gintama novel on there too.Usually novels based on manga never do so well.
